The Universe is really big, wouldn't the god of the solar system or maybe even god of the planet earth make more sense?  How about god of the middle east?  That would explain the insanity.

The insanity has already been explained without local intervention. lol

Is there a touch of mockery in what you say! God is the God of everything, there is no God of the Middle East specific. What's happening is not insanity but people demanding their rights for freedom and democracy which has been long held at bay and dictators and which many outside powers supported.

God of the Middle east? It's the same god of the Christians, Muslims, and Jews. By the way, all three are Middle Eastern man made religions.

I wonder if they would all like to move back there?

Maybe if we had all the religiously inept in one place they would kill each other off over who has the right invisible friend?
That could save all the sane people from their filthy morals and hate-fests.

Not based on any biblical god we won't!

Anyone arrogant enough to reject the verdict of the judge or of the priest who represents the LORD your God must be put to death.  Such evil must be purged from Israel.  (Deuteronomy 17:12 NLT)

You should not let a sorceress live.  (Exodus 22:17 NAB)

"If a man lies with a male as with a women, both of them shall be put to death for their abominable deed; they have forfeited their lives."  (Leviticus 20:13 NAB)

Neurotic homophobic little god isn't he? smile

Nice little change of topic there earnest smile

And the nations of them which are saved shall walk in the light of it: and the kings of the earth do bring their glory and honour into it.

Based on 'any biblical God', all those that serve him will live together in peace... one day.

Why don't you address the neurosis of the scripture that created your belief system?

If you want to discuss any particular points, I'm glad to. I just don't appreciate when someone says 'No, you're wrong', and instantly changes subjects. From the possibility of living in peace, to the apparent 'neurosis' of scripture, is an example of what I consider a change of topic smile

What specifically, would you like to go over first?

I think the real secret is to seek to live in peace with those we disagree with here. If we can do that... even try to do that, then we will have no problem living in peace with those we agree with there.

There have been thousands of gods worshipped in man's history.  It is simply a matter of politics and geography, that three religious beliefs, which have their origins in the Bronze Age Middle East have taken over much of the world.  Had things been different, we may now be worshipping Zeus.

Zeus is more famous for taking the shape of animals and somehow seducing human women, whereas the other god is famous for smiting everything while it insists how much it loves those it is smiting.  I'll take Zeus anyday.
