    Dear Pcunix,

Where are you these days, I really miss you! Please come back in the forums at least! Have you left HubPages? At least let us know! You're the one I think the most genuine person here. Wish your good health!

    Regds,
    Andy

    I've been a bit busy.

My main site got Panda slapped - not death-dealing, but enough to make a difference. I have been getting rid of ancient junk and all that sort of thing. It is very time consuming..  and frustrating because some of what I have done seems to have made things worse smile

That's what happens when you create a lot of artificial back links and publish spun articles. wink

Oooohhhh!! tongue  roll  He's gonna punch you!

Seriously though, Pcunix, you have been missed.  Here's hoping you've gotten the problems all straightened out by now, and also hoping that anything made apparently worse will soon recover and flourish. smile

You saw what happened with Misha right? Apparently you won the argument!

Now I just wish that Panda would penalize Yahoo for running Reuters articles word for word. smile

No, what happened to Misha had nothing to do with his backlinking - unless I missed something elsewhere.  That was just a over zealous intern.

You could have come back with a new White hat, a bit like Gandalf (although much younger) in the Lord of the Rings.

Impractical maybe but it's quite the favorite for pigeons and birds....for building nests!

Hey Pcunix, I've only just started getting my Wordpress blog rising in the Google search results so too soon to know if I've been slapped. Discovered I'm on midway page 5 for my chosen keyword..so bit more work to do..

Good to see you back, so far I have escaped any kind of slap from Farmer/Panda. It would be helpful if you let us know the cause of the slap if you manage to figure it out.

Like everyone else, I'm just guessing.

I have a goodly amount of very old and very useless stuff  - I've been deleting that, doing redirects where appropriate, fixing broken links, making it useful where possible and so on.    I have NO idea if it is this stuff that caused the drop.

The other thing I suspect is that maybe it's because the site has multiple areas of focus.  I really, really, REALLy do not want to break it into separate sites.  If that's what caused it, well, I'm not going to do it so that's that.  I'll live with the reduced income.  It's just a few less toys.

And to follow up - all my work hasn't done a bit of good.

I'm down to $200 a month from Google and it's still falling.

Basically, I've given up.  I don't know why Google now hates a site it used to love and I'm past caring.  For the people who use it, it's still a good site no matter what Google thinks.

It doesn't stop me from writing though.  I was writing before Adsense existed and I'll keep on writing even if I get down to a dollar a day and even if it went to zero.

Actually, on a CPM basis, HP is paying far better, so I'll likely be doing more here again.

It's nice to read Pcunix that it's not all about the money, however that does suck to drop that low from where you were. Google and the Hubs must have had a fallen out, no longer great bed fellows:0)

No, not Hubs.  As I said, on a CPM basis HP is doing much better than my website. I'm all for Hubbing - if I had the traffic here I have there, I'd be rolling in money :-)
