Aaron Rodgers - Rodgers' greatness was on display once again in Sunday's matchup with the Vikings, with the Green Bay sharp-shooter firing on a pinpoint 24-of-30 throws for 335 yards and three touchdowns, two of which came during a pivotal 20-0 third-quarter surge that erased a 17-13 halftime deficit. He completed his first 13 attempts of the afternoon.
Arian Foster - became the first Texan to run for 100 yards and have 100 yards receiving in the same game, and he scored three touchdowns as Houston routed the Tennessee Titans 41-7 on Sunday for the largest margin of victory in franchise history.
DeMarco Murray - Murray ran for 253 yards in Dallas' 34-7 victory over the St. Louis Rams on Sunday, the most rushing yards ever in a single game in team history.
Drew Brees Brees leads the NFL in passing with 2,477 yards. Brees finished last nights game against the pitiful Colts with 31-of-35 (89 percent) for 325 yards, five touchdowns, no interceptions and a passer rating of 144.9.
Plaxico Buress The New York Jets have been waiting patiently for Burress to break out, and he finally did on Sunday in the 27-21 win over the Chargers. As the NY Daily News proudly headlined "Plax is Back" The NY Jets give thanks to Plaxico Burress' huge game for putting them back into the AFC playoff picture.
Or maybe you think someone else had a great week? If so do share!
Not exactly players, but I think the chain gang in New Orleans had a pretty impressive evening. They ran more than Darren Sproles and none of them asked to be taken out of the game.
awwww Ron .. I must admit watching the game last night my thoughts were with you. Poor Colts. . .just shows how important it is having a true team leader (especially when your teams leader is one of the best QB's ever and is on the sidelines) Brees was impressive but then again did they have any competition?
Have to go with Aaron Rogers. Incredible numbers. Although DeMarco Murray beating out Emmit and Tony is pretty cool. He had around 70 total rushing yards coming into the game.
Paul - Aaron Rodgers is definitely a QB to watch. Even with the SB ring already on his hand I have a feeling we are going to see a few more to add to his collection.
As for DeMarco Murray its nice to see a rookie RB have a breakout game. He is one to watch for sure. Jerry Jones must be a happy camper today. .. !
No kudos to Tim Tebow? He did fillet the Fish in the waning moments How are you?
And where have you been hiding? WOW! Long time no see.
Hey Cagsil. Yeah, been busy working my tail off. I really miss all of you guys @ HubPages. It's been a while eh?
So nice to see you Dohn!
Knew you had to come out of the woodwork especially with Big Blue playing like the top dogs in the NFC East (not exactly a hard feat these days) but the Giants are looking tough.. . and with this week playing the winless Miami Dolphins should be an easy win (but then again this is the NFL and anything can happen!)
stop being such a stranger. ..
How are you? I'm sorry I didn't get back to you sooner. I missed you buddy Yeah, the Giants are looking a lot better and with Prince Amukamara, and Justin Tuck practicing again this week, things are looking even better. I'm still crossing my fingers for an All-New York Super Bowl in 2014 I just hope that the Giants don't look they did against Seattle when they play the Fish. Yes, the NFL is very unpredictable. TTYS
DeMarco Murray had an incredible game. I hope the Cowboys have found themselves an every down back so they can stop using "running back by committee".
As each week passes, I become more impressed with Aaron Rogers. He plays well every week. It doesn't matter whether the Packers are at home or on the road. It doesn't matter if they are playing with a lead or need to come from behind in the 4th quarter. He protects the ball, makes a play when they need it and rarely makes a mistake.
Any QB that has the moves that Rodgers has been showing is definitely one hell of a great QB -
I think that it all comes down to his amazing belt celebration!
Am I( the only person that saw Drew Brees throw for 5 touchdowns on 31 for 35 passing?
Yes, but it was against a mediocre High School team.
He had more touchdown passes then incompletions. That is impressive no matter who you play.
Well since Arian earned me 44 fantasy points all on his own, he has my vote.
Rodgers is definitely the best quarterback thus far this season.
Arian Foster by far, although Murray was quite impressive. Foster is the most COMPLETE back in the NFL, a Westbrook in his prime. When you can hurt someone through the air or running, it keeps the defense on their toes. If Houston can be consistent on offense, they can go places.
When you go 31 for 35 for 325 qnd 5 touchdowns, you automatically are the most impressive unless someone can match that, regardless of who you are playing. Brees isn't MVP this season or anything, but as far as last week goes, gotta be most impressive. Thed Saints put up the most points since the NFL and AFL merged in 1970. I feel this discussion should be over.
Not true at all. Who you put those numbers up against has a lot to do with the discussion.
The amount of $$$ you rake in is another measure of excellence. Kerry Collins was paid $2,000,000 per touchdown pass this season before being placed on IR. Pretty damned impressive.
In a sport where you are going up against all paid professionals, no it doesn't matter. Everyone raved about Aaron Rodgers 4 td passes and 2 td runs against the Broncos, also a garbage football team. No love for Brees.

Next week's divisional game between the Giants and Packers should be a good one. Last time they met in Week 13, the Packers won 38-35 in MetLife Stadium. Rodgers engineered a last-minute drive to set up a 31-yard field goal. The GMen will go into Lambeau Field next week a heavy underdog against an...

2014 MVP of the National Football league?Who do you think will win?
by bogerk 13 years ago
What a great victory for the Green Bay Packers against the Atlanta Falcons. If Aaron Rodgers hadn't officially broken onto the National scene yet I think it's safe to say he busted through the door last night.Bring on the Bears!
