I just published my 50th hub and I wanted to know what other hubbers think about this topic. Once you have successfully published 50 hubs does that accomplishment help increase traffic to all of your published hubs, or create any other bonuses I am unaware of.
I would really like to know this as well. I would hope that with an increase in the amount of hubs one produces, the amount of traffic would increase as well. *fingers crossed*
Yes and no. The more hubs you have, the better chances of increase traffic you will have. However, if you're writing more in the ways of quantity and not quality, you could have 1000 hubs and see hardly any traffic. The key is to write well written hubs with good quality content that people will want to read. Otherwise, don't count on much traffic.
If anybody has any insight on this topic I would greatly appreciate your input.
I don't think that 50 is any kind of magic number. What it does mean is that some of your earlier hubs will have been around for some time, and hopefully will have gained traffic as they have aged
Thank you for your input. That is a great point.
So one important aspect about your hubs traffic is the older they are the more reputable or noticeable they become to different search engines which in turn will result in increasing traffic levels over time, I say this assuming such hubs would be quality hubs as well that have remained consistent among traffic as far as the specific target audience for it is concerned. I by no means expect to publish poorly written hubs in hopes that as time goes by regardless of the fact that they have no real public appeal that their traffic volume will still increase with age and thus earn more revenue.
It's your content that determines traffic, not a "magic number" of Hubs. If your read the forums you'll find plenty of people with more than 50 Hubs who say they are struggling to get traffic.
I agree that content is essential in order for your hubs to be successful, I had just heard other hubbers mention that there were certain perks that come with accomplishments such as publishing 50 hubs, 100, hubs, having over 100 followers and so forth and was curious to know if that was relevant at all. I could see hub pages using special incentives for accomplishments such as the ones I described to try to encourage hubbers to stay active in the hubpages community as well as give them extra incentive to keep producing additional quality hubs in order to reach those goals in hopes that once they did hubpages would in turn reward them for their hard work by offering the incentives I previously was curious about. Thank you for your response it is nice to get some good insight on the topic at hand.
How interesting.... I've never heard of any sort of perks that HP offers for anything at all. Can you expand on what you have heard - and where you heard it? - Maybe I don't really know what you mean by perks.
There is actually a benefit to publishing many hubs and participating in the various forums and commenting on others hubs - that benefit is backlinks! These will help your content to rank.....
However if you write on subjects that people are not searching for, or use keywords that are not searched then you will still not get traffic.
Thank you LeanMan, this is probably one of the most helpful and informative responses I have received on this topic yet. I greatly appreciate your input and would love to receive any further info or advice you have pertaining to this discussion.
I had a brief look at your account, your titles are a long way from being the sort of things that people will be searching for on a daily basis - beyond 63 (or is it 68) characters in your title google goes to sleep and does not notice - Google also considers the words at the begging of a title to be more important than at the end so having several hubs with titles that all begin the same with the "keywords" after the series title will not help (I made this mistake at the start also) - better to reverse your titles such as "My first apartment - how not to live chronicles", you may get better traffic..
Read up on on page SEO and backlinking for some more advice on how you can improve your hubs - if you want to go after traffic and revenue read up on keywords and finding a niche.. if you just want to write then don't worry about anything...
Very good information! Thank you very much! I had no clue, because of your perceptive insight on this particular problem concerning my hubs titles I will make sure to invest a solid amount of time to correct this. Once again awesome input LeanMAn!
Good points here. Your content and keywords are crucial. As CMhypno said, hubs can improve with age -- if they're on evergreen topics people seek. Some of my three year-old hubs have steady traffic -- even though I did little to promote them.
One advantage to publishing more hubs and linking them in groups is that you gain visibility. Publishing regularly seems to help keep up the flow of traffic within HP -- I joined the HP ads program last month, so pageviews count.
I've had a major increase in outside traffic over the last month from adding more hubs, tweeting, using pingler.com and adding summaries of my hubs on Blogger. I don't use artificial backlinking.
LeanMan nailed it -- you need to focus your content and titles to what readers want and search engines recognize. Use the Google AdWords tool to identify keywords and pick topics that can attract traffic and aren't too competitive.
Awesome! Thank you for the feedback, it is extremelly informative and helpful I am learning alot just through this forum that I was totally unaware of and have been a member of hubpages for 14 months now so thank Hikeguy for you input!
You're welcome. I was away a long time, so I feel like I'm starting over. Here's a link you might find helpful: http://hubpages.com/learningcenter/topics
The Google Wonder Wheel doesn't exist any more, but other than that, the information's still good, and there are links to some veteran hubbers for more information.
This one explains long-tail keywords: http://hubpages.com/learningcenter/long … ch-traffic
here is an interesting fact I have noticed since published my 50th hub 2 days ago. Over the past two days my traffic has increased to 750 views, 500 views online yesterday. Prior to this I was averaging 50 views a day max. I think those statistics speak for themself.
983 views over the past 7 days, 500 of those views alone came yesterday.
You account is surging, obviously. You must have realised that since subdomains were introduced accounts are mostly either surging or plunging, with some staying on a surge and others staying on a plunge.
The number of hubs isn't the important issue.
I have 46 hubs on another account, and it is surging at the moment, but it plunged last week.
This is entirely down to Google traffic. On a plunge, it disappears, leaving only views from HP and other search engines.
On a surge, Google traffic comes back in force.
see this is my first and only experience of a surge this great since I have been a member of hubpages and it began after I published my 50th hub. I have also been going back through all my previously published hubs and backlinking, and so on and so forth but still to go from maybe 50 views a day to over 500 a day is a monumental jump. today I am on pace for 700+ views.
But thank you for your input, it is always nice to recieve input from a hubber as well established as yourself so I know you are a extremelly credible source concerning this topic.
This is a good point. I have also noticed my google traffic has more than trippled but this may be largely due to the great deal of revisions I have made to my previously published hubs in a variety of ways over the past week, so your reply is well noted.
also according to hubpages: "accolades: They help move you up the ranks of hubpages to get your new hubs noticed more quickly and get more traffic". The published atleast 50 hubs accolade I just recieved seems to emphasize this.
Are you hyperactive or something? lol All those replies could have been put in one post.

Since I joined HP there has been a constant battle against the rise and fall of traffic. We are often encouraged to tune our titles, edit our content and generally try to improve our Hubs. Now with the threat of having Hubs unfeatured, as well as the new quality assessment process taking place...

I've been doing a lot of thinking about the types of services we offer Hubbers and how to help Hubbers improve.A few services that have been suggested- grammar and spell checking- suggesting edits- providing images/media upon request- formatting help (breaking hubs into multiple text capsules,...

There are tons of hubs on keyword selection and the various tools one could use to make the process easier. But, like most things 'net - they are mostly copies of copies of copies or poorly strewn together theories by intermediate writer-marketers ..So I ask... what was truly masterful, what made...

I don't think I'm alone in thinking that the main thing that has dragged hubpages down in this latest algo change is the amount of crappy content posted on here over the years. I understand the reasoning behind the latest changes regarding ad placement and reduction of amazon and ebay links and I...

Google says no nudity. These hubs violating policy. The so called authors of these hubs are very clever. They become fan of any one and in return they get fans. Thus they have maximum number of fans. As these galeries need no intellectual, they publish number of hubs. This way they get highest...

First, I want to apologize if you've heard this question a 1000 times before, but I'd be grateful if you could advise me from your experience. If I was to publish a large number of hubs across various topics, each targeting a well researched keyword/s, is it realistic to aim for an average daily...
