I was so into this contest and I entered a lot but I have little hopes of winning. But I am wondering if there has been a formal announcement as to when the winners will be announced? I mean I believe it is on December 2, but does anyone know what time?

Are we just going to know the winners or all the contenders?

    Thanks,

    JT

Guess we'll just have to wait and see. I'm assuming it will be winners only - hundreds of contenders entered.

I don't believe it is only the daily drawing winners which are in contention for the final prizes.  I think Simone said all qualified entries would be considered and I hope this is indeed the case.  smile

Yes but they will only list the winners, not every entry.

So no word on when they will announce?

I though the daily winners were only randomly picked?  I guess we will have to wait to see.

The daily winners were randomly selected. The actual winners in each category are chosen by the panel of judges from all the entries that met the entry requirements.

              That is my understanding anyway.

                Thanks Shadesbreath,

I appreciate your input. But I will not be surprised if you are a winner.

This comes from the official contest rules page:

Smashwords, First, Second, and Third Place prizes will be announced Friday, December 2nd at 4:00pm (PT)

Yes, Randy, every eligible entry is considered. The HP community made the judges task very difficult as there were so many amazing hubs entered. It will be exciting to see the final winners. smile

Good to hear, Rebekah!  I would hate for the finalists to be only those randomly picked in the daily drawings because this would not conducive to having the best hubs judged for the grand prizes.  Thanks for clarifying this for us.  smile

I really am glad that I am not one of the judges - so many superb entries - I know I couldn't whittle them down to 100 let alone 3!

Was I the only one who didn't take part in the contest this time?

Best of luck to all the entrants smile

I only entered one piece into the creative writing section but I have to admit I am excited to see who wins. With that many articles submitted, the judges probably haven't slept in a while and the winners hubs should hopefully be pretty spectacular!

    Good luck to all!

There have definitely been many late nights this past month, reading the poetry entries. It has been an inspiring, enriching, challenging experience. I am amazed at the talent and heart of many writers at HP. I'm excited as everyone else to find out who the final winners will be. I think it's a great way to spend an evening, reading hubs submitted from hubbers from countries all over the world. HP has an amazing global community of creative writers. Good luck! Congrats to each of you for your hard work and heart put into this contest. smile
