Is anyone else getting jumpy when they hear kids playing outside?

   Does everyone have their audio on while surfing Hubpages? Has anyone recently noticed the sound of kiddies playing outside, "OKAAYYYYYY" and its time for dinner. I'm wondering who is there with me and when it interferes with other sounds and activities, then I realize.... what this is.

      This is driving me crazy on every page. It could be I'm the only one getting these particular video affiliate advertisements, because we are targeted by our browsing patterns.
      
      My message was a bit of a hidden message. The insurance advertisement on hubpages presently shows a child in a tree, getting ready for an accident to happen. The mom calls the kid in for dinner. The child yells back, "Okay" and you hear the rustling of leaves. This keeps playing every time I hit a new hub page.

   How odd.  I never have it on.  Well, it's on, but  I have headphones I don't put on unless I need to listen to something.

   Well, aren't you smart! However, I'm either listening to some music playing or watching all the videos, So, often this pop-ups interfere and keep repeating the same sounds of fear. Give it a try and tell me what you hear?

   My audio is always on and I hear nothing from HubPages. I do run music from time to time and even watch videos from time to time, but none of it has to do with HubPages and I don't even hear what is going on outside.
   
   So, no I don't get jumpy.

      I live in an upstairs flat so its not really an issue for me, but the kids here mainly congregate in the parks or open areas but they are a good distance away from where I live

   Debby, if you have any sort of auto-run videos playing while you are on HubPages, you're suppose to report them to staff.

   That sounds very creepy and would really flip me out.
   I would definitely report it.
   I keep my audio turned off until I want to watch a specific video.
   There's enough useless noise in my head already!

   I've been getting audio adverts playing Jingle Bells all day!
   
   I reported it on the 'ad bug' thread but no-one replied. I see the advert coming up on nearly every hub I open, but do not know how to get its url. It's an adobe flash advert, so when I right click it I don't have the option of copying the url.
   
   It in Spanish and telling me I have won a prize, and has moving bells all round the box.

   I remember one of the staff mentioning the fact that they would be testing out auto-run ads on some hubs, but I also remember that they were only doing it on HP staff hubs.
   
   I wonder if this is a glitch to go with all the other glitches happening lately.

         Right, I have reported the many pages where I've noticed CODE
         So, yes, they must be working on it.
         
         Good to let them know that the ad audios play automatically.

            It's so weird because I have yet to see (or in this case hear) any of these odd glitches.  It's almost too bad since I can't check to see if they've been fixed.

    I've seen them too, Debby. They're not awful, but I dislike being forced to listen to an ad, or any auto-play video, when I've clicked into a page for an entirely different reason. Hope they don't implement them HP-wide.

       Capricon - I find these auto-play advertisements all around the internet quite annoying and interfering in work and attempts at listening to other items. In a way, we will become used to them, as we get accustomed to all types of white noise or stimulation asking for our attention.

    Maybe not, whenever that happens to me (it hasn't often at all) I click away from the page. There's no sense having that on a page where you're already trying to listen to something and can't shut it off so away I go!

       TL ~ There are times when the page you are watching or reading is very important. In those cases, it is not simply a matter of clicking away. Basically, you have to search on the page for the location of the advertisement and find the audio button, then click it off to stop it from playing.
       
       When I host my radio shows, this is a must do action.
       
       When you are on the computer, let's say, listening to radio station, when you call-in and put you on the air, you will have to turn off the sound coming from the computer so that you do not get an echo, interference and mess up the radio call.
       
       That is just one example of adjusting the sound on the computer.
