My new years resolution is to get closer to God and to help more people this year than I have in the past. What is yours? <link snipped - no promotional links>
Remember, God loves and cares for everyone. It is a fact!
Even on New Years. Even on every day of every week of every month of every year.
One in seven people in the world will go to bed hungry tonight.
One out of every four children in developing countries is underweight.
There are more hungry people in the world than the combined populations of the US, Canada and the European Union.

These are also facts. Where is your God who loves and cares for "everyone"?
Man's free will has created many a tragic circumstance in the world. Our's is to try and clean it up as best we can. God offers His help if one will just send out thier requests. God is understanding and benevolent. His answers are not always what we desire but they are usually for the best as far the long range pictures are concerned. So in times of difficulty prayer and faith work hand in hand to adjust the wrongs of the world. Not to mention a great deal of mankinds envolvment in the various chaitable organizations. So give of your time to help, pray and offer a good voice and happy heart to those struggling. It will all work out one day. Last, let us not seem downtrodden in times of dispair but rather let us lift up our hearts as this lifts up the hearts and hopes of all those who so desperately need an encouraging word. Your encouragment today could mean the success of someone tomorrow.
Yes, mans free will has created the concept of gods so that he may shift his responsibilities off his own shoulders to diametrically opposed beings that cannot be questioned or criticized for their actions, but only praised for those things most cherished and damned for everything else.
But, as tragic a circumstance that is, amongst others, it is one being corrected as more and more people take back their responsibilities and no longer need invisible gods to make real and positive changes.
No, it isn't. The Christian Monitor is dangerous to people and societies as it only tends to propagate lies and seek converts, originally founded by Mary Baker Eddy who claimed the Bible healed her when medical practitioners (mid 1800's) could not.
Perhaps, you didn't notice the statistics in my previous post showing well enough your claim is entirely false. Perhaps, in the magical kingdom where abundance is plenty and doled out in on a "request", one becomes detached from the real world where such requests are duly ignored.
Yes, understanding in his ultimate wisdom to ignore those who need his benevolence the most.
Of course, in the magical kingdom where unanswered prayers are little more than lost car keys and expired lottery tickets, one can easily conclude their own long range picture is better adjusted for the clarity and brilliance of a world far more substantial than just a morsel of food.
Yes, statistics show unequivocally the results of what prayer and faith have accomplished in times of difficulty, nothing short of a babies bathwater tossed into an ocean.
Let's be clear about that... "MANKINDS" involvement.
Yes, I notice you didn't mention offering a morsel of food, but rather a smile and a wave as you pass by, just like God does, too. Amazing.
If I ignore it, maybe it will eventually go away.
Yes, an encouraging word, it's the least they could do, because we all know the Christian Monitor strives to do the very least.
Your prayers and words achieve nothing for anyone, anywhere, anytime.
It is such a shame that some are so bitter toward mankind and the world at large. I pray that one day they will see the truth and that thier lives will become one of happiness and joy. P.S. We strive daily in our duties to provide for the hungry and the homeless. With Gods help we can one day achieve a world without homelessness and starvation. But it takes a whole village to accomplish such as this and that whole village is every able Christian and every able American. So when anyone feels like lashing out at another just take a deep breath and consider who you may be hurting in the process. Knowbody deserves to be mistreated or hurt if all they are doing is telling how they believe and feel. Think what would Jesus do? This may profoundly change the way one thinks and acts. Last, even if one does not believe in the word of God everyone has to admit that it has some pretty good advice on morality and personal behavior.
Sorry, but we're trying to save mankind and the world at large from your religion.
Since your prayers have done nothing for the starving, then I can't see it doing any good for anything else. However, if it makes you feel better to do nothing, that is your prerogative.
Yes, mankind strives, your organization prays.
Your prayers and your God are utterly useless and will do nothing but make matters worse.
Nonsense, it is simply people that accomplishes things, not some useless religion or patriotism.
If you're hurt because others expose your prayers and religion as useless garbage, that's not anyone's problem but your own.
You are not being mistreated, please don't lie.
He would not pray, he would actually do something instead. It is the Christian Monitor that does not follow the ways of Jesus.
You would need to think and act first before that can be changed.
Your religion is devoid of teaching morals and personal behavior, quite the opposite in fact as we can see in your posts and within the Christian Monitor organization.
I live this way every single day of my life. So nothing new for me.
But, I want to give up a "bad" habit (Smoking). So that should get me better health and a few more bucks a month that can be better used helping others.
Good luck. I quit smoking a couple years ago after about 15 years. It gets easier once you get over the first couple of weeks then the craving disappears altogether.
Christ In The New Year
Jesus died naturally and peacefully and is in the heaven now; a new year does not affect him.
DoubleScorp...I'm doing that too, and also the other. And here is Paar...hovering like a vulture of disinformation!
Hang in there. Life is great and gets better.
True but He also enjoys the happiness and celebrations of His beloved children.
I wouldn't know that. It is not recorded if He did or did not. However, I am sure the new year was celebrated by the population of His day.

From what I've read in the bible, we are to identify wrong behaviours and speak up but we are not to play judge because that makes us prideful and reluctant to take the beam out of our own eye. Many Christians insist that it is their duty to judge and they end up judging everyone about everything....

Was Jesus truly the son of God? Or was he a Prophet of God? Or was he just a Man with a insightful view of faith that inspired many to follow and create what is know today as Christianity?

How Does A Christian Know If They Are Saved Or Not?

Is it "really" possible to to have just a "personal" faith as a Christian?I certainly understand the desire to not make waves and to give respect and to be "open minded"; however, if one really claims to believe the message of Christianity as stated in Scripture, would...

How important is it to you that you honor God & What does it mean to honor God? If a man therefore purge himself from these, he shall be a vessel unto honour, sanctified , and meet for the master's use, and prepared unto every good work.-2 Tim 2:21For we are God's workmanship, created in Christ...
