   I am new to Hubpages and would like to get meet some of you. I have been reading some great articles and would like to get more informaion on how this all works. How to follow and how to be followed etc...

   Welcome to HubPages.  They way you follow someone is to go to their profile page and click on the Green 'Follow' button at the top, to the left of their picture.
   
   How does someone follow you?  The same way I just did. 
   
   The more people you follow, the more people will follow you and you will build up an audience for the Hubs and more page views for your work.

      Sorry, but this is not good advice. Following loads of people randomly with no real interest in their specific writing tends to not only result in people not following you back (because upon looking at your profile page all they see is a string of 'xxxxx is now following' statements, but it also negatively impacts on your Hubber score). I have hubbed on 'The Main Mistakes New Hubbers Make' and randomly following loads of people in order to gain followers is one of the highest on the list.
      
      Only ever follow Hubbers if you have read their work and sincerely like it, and even then do not expect them to automatically follow you back (they may not be interested in your chosen subject matter). Write well, interact in the community and the followers will come naturally.

         I just read your Hub 'The Main Mistakes New Hubbers Make' - It's good advice for new people and I'm glad you wrote it.  What advice do you have for new Hubbers acquiring followers?  Did you ever do anything specifically or directly to attract new followers?

            Hi Writer Fox, no I did not consciously do anything to attract new followers, but even if I had, and if it had worked, this is not the answer to success online. Success is from income, and this means writing well and attracting Google Love and therefore getting to the top of the SERPS. Followers come naturally, and if you feel a need for them, wait for them to arrive, but honestly, they are far from essential in order to be successful!

    Hi ! I loved the photos on your hub about the waterfall in Canada . We hope to travel overseas this year to Europe and Canada .

    Also be aware that even if you follow someone and they DO automatically follow you back, the odds are they may never read your work and are only following you back out of politeness, which is not the kind of follower you want to attract. In any case, you want to get people reading your hubs who are external to Hubpages, not just members here, (especially if you rely on Adsense as opposed to HP Ads as Hubbers don't click on Ads generally).
