   Are the police allowed to break laws in the name of the greater good?
      Policing inside our prison system is corrupt?

      Interesting question --- i think it depends on the situation, there are many people who will always say that the police are too powerful and stamping on our individual human rights but what happens when law and order break down?
      I hate to answer a question with a question but there it is... unfortunately police put a restraining influence on society, which is good for all of us!

      I don't think it's fair to generalize like that. Lumping them all together like that is no more right than saying all police are model citizens...obviously there are bad apples in every line of work, police included.
      
      In my experience, though, I've met many more helpful and solicitious police than the other type.

   Police and Prison Guards/Officials are two separate things in many places.
   
   One- are you talking about America or another place?
   
   Two- in many states prisons are not run by state officials or police officers. Many prisons are privately run facilities.
   
   Is the prison system corrupt? On the whole- probably in more places than I care to think of.

      police and prison guards are separate entities, but they both
      are tools of oppression. be it warranted or not..

   There shall be no interference of the political parties and other institutions which are part of the legislature, administration and executive. This make Police independent and definitely powerful.

      if they did not exist you would not find it so easy to sleep in peace at night. yes there are corrupt cops...but they are in truth criminals in disguise and will eventually be caught and made to pay for their crimes. yes there are cops who over do their job, but not as many as the media would like us to believe.way back in march, i quit counting the number of cops killed in the line of duty....a duty to protect that they take very seriously. so seriously they are willing to die...for you and the rest of us. back in march around 50 cops had already been killed...barely three months into the new year. i hate to think of the numbers now. in rapid city, sd, two cops were recently killed. and that hasnt happend here in a long time. you say cops should not exist, but they are the ones keeping your family safe. they are the ones in a joint effort with the FBI are the ones taking down slavery here in america. yes there are bad cops, but on the whole i think the good that the good cops do outweighs the bad.

   Most people do not notice that almost all cities of significant size, have an arsenal of crowd containment equipment nowadays.
   
   Any time the democratic and republican conventions are held, that city cordons off large areas to keep protestors away.
   
   The same thing happens world wide.  Especially when world financial organizations are meeting.
   
   Where did all the money come from to purchase all of this riot gear and heavy equipment?
   
   I guess I shouldn't wonder where.  I can see that money just magically appears where the PTB want it to.  This is obvious when we observe nations that are in deep poverty, yet their poor people have expensive modern arms to massacre each other with!
   
   Police are the tools of the powers that be!
   
   The rest of the people just swallow their misdirection explainations of what's going on in the world.
   
   Don't make waves, big brother will take care of you. Your bought and paid for politicians will see to it!

   I think some police are too powerful.  You can tell by the way their clothes struggle to stretch over their bodies.  They are thick set, unshaven and a bit unattractive.  The men are even worse.
   
   It can be similar with traffic wardens and I put this down to the diet.

   Like a lot of people I have the utmost respect for good cops however watching video, as the video of police brutality I most definitely believe they have too much power. Tax dollars paid these people to work towards helping to keep Americans safe yet you can find too many of these law enforcement falsely stopping citizens to rape in some cases, brutalizing some people in other cases.
   
   The police agency specifically designed to uphold the law has what is known as the "Code of Silence" as I understand it, it is similar to the Mafia you keep your mouth closed. We demand that citizens tell police what they know about a crime but the very people who uphold the law don't have to say anything-Crazy. There have been a number of videos where when the police were called regarding one situation a child or family member was harmed by the police which was unrelated to the call.

    That whole "To protect and Serve" bit looks like it is a thing of the past. There are good cops and they do help when they are needed, but sometimes they seem to be the aggressor.
