Has anyone read Harry Potter?

   Have you read Harry Potter and do remember the first time you read the first book of your choice. I remember reading the 1st book when I was a 13year old and that was nearly ten years ago.

      I read the Harry Potter books this past summer, and I LOVED the story.  Hands down, this series is one of the best I've ever read.  And although the movies are great, the books are far better.  People who enjoyed the movies should read the books--they are missing too much!

      Of course! I used to sit in the library in our school during lunch times and read them and anything else . . . sounds a bit sad when i think of it now.

      Read the first one on a four hour trip just to see what the hype was about and fell in love with the series. I was even at the bookstore at midnight to get book 7. I still have my Snape good or bad stickers

      I read them all and I remember how special they were to me because my grandma frequently got the new one for me in Peoria, pre-ordered at Barnes and Noble a copy for herself and a copy for me. And we would get them on the day they were released and take them to Steak n' Shake or some other restaurant and have a nice lunch and read the first chapters together, then we'd finish them apart and talk about them! It was super fun it was like being in a book club with just your grandma, lol.

      Are you kidding? I read them all twice and a couple of them three times. Every time I read them I appreciate something more, and HP is just the best kid ever. I'm considering starting again from #1.

   I read all seven books over and over again. Can almost remember every scene by heart now. I don't remember the first time I read them because its been a while, but anytime I read them, even now, they are as exciting as they were the first time.

   I've read all of the books over and over again. I remember as a kid my dad went on a trip to England and brought back the UK version, which somehow seemed better than the American version. I started reading the first one when I was about eight or nine and I remember my mother telling me that if it scared me, I needed to remember it was just a story. For the longest time afterward, I was quite deluded and believed I was some sort of reincarnation of Hermione Granger. Don't ask.

        I too identified with Hermione - and I was already an old lady who would have done better fantasizing myself as Maggie Smith!  ha   But I enjoyed the books and stopped after the 4th one - I should get the rest and finally read them.  I have problems sticking with serials after the third book or so - don't know why.  I lose interest and then I think the writing is not as great as with the first - but that's just because familiarity breeds contempt etc.  Wouldn't we all give everything to be able to write such blockbusters!

   I read all of these books to my grandson. I used them to teach him to love reading, which he does now. It was a great experience for the two of us to read these books together. He gradually read some of them aloud to me, and he became a reader. Thank you, J.K. Rowling!

   Nothing has really affected so many people like HP has. I know that the fandom is still going strong, and a lot of my friends are still actively engaged with the series, especially when it comes to fan fiction. Maybe a hub on the HP fan fiction community would be a good idea? Seems like a solid niche to fit into.
