I have had a hub kicked out for the crime of having watermarked images or videos, as the hub in question only has one image and that has no watermark that only leaves the videos - which all have a "you-tube" water mark on them! Is this allowed? If the water mark for "you tube" is allowed does that mean the two that also have a "Expert Village" water mark must be allowed too? I guess that this is the watermark that they refer to but I had no idea that the watermark rule applied to videos and had not even noticed that any had them; until now...

But saying that ALL youtube videos are watermarked!!!!!!

I would suggest posting in the hub makeover forum--you may be missing what they are flagging.

There are two Videos with watermarks, they are very clear so that is what the infraction is and the warning is specific to this - but until this I had no idea that videos were included in the no watermarks or that videos even had them...

If the watermark is anything other than the youtube logo--well, that is a watermark.

(You could post the google cache if there is one).

Only published it yesterday (I should say it it is on my new account but had been published on this account for over a month without issue) - until this I had no idea about watermarks on videos hence me raising in this thread as I am sure that many others also do not realise..

It is a watermark as I highlight in my opening post - but that seems to be acceptable - or is it??? Maybe all youtube videos are in violation of the HP TOS..

('Valid Points' by SunLogic) - Now there's a potential watermark seriously worth considering! big_smile

As per hubpages rules, no it isn't--perhaps because youtube, amazon etc are supported platforms here.

Not that their rules have to make sense.  They are just the rules of their private game.

Their rules are VERY clear, NO watermarked images or videos

ALL youtube videos have a watermark therefore are against the TOS..

ALL Google Map Images have a watermark and are also against the TOS

Maybe someone from staff can jump in and clarify..

I think it is pretty clear that they don't count logo trademarking by universally known platforms.  They mean creator watermarks.

Posting to the EHM forum won't help if the Hubs have been unpublished.

Most likely the Expert Village watermark is what is the problem.  But in actuality, if you need clarification, you should be emailing admin as they actually make the call over what is a TOS violation and what isn't.

I already sent the email, I just thought I would raise the issue here as I am sure that many others have not considered watermarks on their videos and I see plenty of them now that I have looked.

Google maps also have a "Google" watermark on them, should we flag all hubs with a map capsule as well as a "youtube" watermarked video??
