      I was watching videos about Ron Paul (because it's impossible to find anything through the mainstream media), and I came across this.

      The media keeps asking themselves "why do the young love Ron Paul" -- of course, it always comes off like "what's wrong with young people" instead of "holy god, this Ron Paul dude has tapped into the sacred fountain of logic and reason".
      
      Anyway, this is the best video I've found yet to explain it to those who have yet to understand why.

   One thing I don't like about Ron Paul is the fact that if his values line up with Republican values, then he should BE Republican, not Libertarian.
   
   Other than that, I have no dislike for him, and especially I have no dislike for him personally.
   
   One political stance where I think he fails is in his push for States' rights on major issues.   I agree the States should have rights, more rights than they do, and that they should reclaim some of the rights that the Federal Government has taken from them or superceded.   The problem is that we DO need a Federal Government for many many things.  It's a difficult thing, a mess really, and I dunno how we could even begin to clear it up so that States retain the rights they should but still retain protection from the Federal.  Like airport security, an issue where I think Paul is very naive.

      it is my understanding of him that political parties are the problem, creat the problems and have changed their stances over time. Seriously, if you did the research you would find that being a conservative now is nothing like what it originally meant. He considers himself more conservative than most conservatives!
      
      I think the only reason he claims to be libertarian is so that he is not labeled negatively a republican. He needs to distinguish himself from them. There is so much more to the man than a label. He met the criteria to run as a republican (I think he sees the name in the original way, as in we are citizens of a Republic)not a democracy, as democrates may see themselves.
      
      Too many "Americans have lost, if they ever found, the true meaning of the Declaration and the Constitution if they think they live in a democracy and that being in a political parties should run the show and hence, know what is best for "the people."
