Has anyone noticed that simply adding a video to a well-written hub that previously lacked one has the effect of stimulating new traffic? This seems to be true even if the hub is an older one.
it seems to be *especially true* if the hub is an older one-- and yes I have noticed. I find adding a few sentences of fresh content will also stimulate new traffic. I think the deal is that Google likes fresh content-- a few sentences, a new video, whatever and adding often pushes the hub up a bit in search engine rankings so you get more traffic.
I haven't yet tried adding videos, but I am interested. Are they protected the way images are, or can you use any old thing from You Tube, for example?
Hi Natalie,
Hubpages supports videos from YouTube and several other sites so I think it is OK to use these for your hubs. Just add a video capsule to your hub, choose edit, select the site that you want to use for your video, and finally cut and paste the URL of the video that you want. Good luck.

I'm not sure if this is the right forum category - but does anyone know how various dates on our hubs affect Google traffic? I've noticed during several recent searches that some high-ranking results do not show the publication date. There are also no comments sections on some of these...

Some experts claim that google loves "fresh content"...With that in mind and assuming there is something to it, and assuming we would like to get more traffic from googgle...Would it make sense to periodically update your existing hubs to add new information or make corrections? And is it...

I've read a whole bunch on here about needing ever-changing and fresh content to keep blogs/hubs/sites on top of the search engines. I think it's a lot of bunk.I have a blog that gets approx. 50k pageviews per month with no marketing driving it. It's all organic searches and traffic from referring...

As you may remember, I copied and pasted an article to make a new duplicate article, then unpublished the original one. This was an experiment to see whether Google would consider it as completely "fresh" content as traffic for the original evergreen math tutorial had dropped slowly over...

Hi everyone! I have a question...If you have an unpublished hub about, let's say Christmas, is it better to keep the hub and publish it towards Christmas or can you publish it whenever? Does the timing of when you publish a hub matter? Something to do with fresh content?

I was shocked to get back from vacation and find my best-performing website, which has survived every Panda update till now, had suddenly lost 46% of its traffic overnight.Turns out there was a Panda update in November:November, 2011: Google's Algorithm Now Rewards Freshness of Content, Impacting...
