Why does the Right so often tell the left to "love it or leave it"?

   This country is  supposed to allow dissent, but it seems the Right always says "love it or leave it.'" What does this show? Those of you that are conservatives, and use this phrase, is it not a little closed minded? I am told this all the time on the Hub Pages because I am a member of the Left. Do we not have a process for change? I do not recall "get out" being one of the remedies in the legal process.

      The process for change is clearly in the Constitution. Ammend it or find somewhere else to live. Liberalism seeks to change things without ammending the Constitution because it takes a 2/3 majority to accomplish that.

            I'll say something like "I don't want my taxes going to the welfare state" or "Taxes are theft, we need to get rid of as many as possible", and I'll be told "well then move to Somalia", or something.
            
            The response usually comes from Ron Montgomery, Pcunix, and Jeff Berndt (to a lesser degree).

      The republicans and the democrats spend most of their time neutralizing each other and the result is total economic collapse, no accomplishment and no forward movement in ths country.
      
      It took the work of both parties, decades of Congresses and Presidents to get as low as we are today, and with little hope of getting out of where we are today.
      
      So if you want to be your partys loyal member and continue the fight with no winners, then you are also the problem.

   Because the right is non-progressive and loves the Status Quo.  They resent any attempt to move forward in any way and therefore would rather progressives left than have to meet us on even ground.  Democracy confuses them and they resent being outnumbered because they are forced to accept changes when they come.

      This is not a Democracy. The Constitution requires a 2/3 vote to be ammended, not a simple majority being bought off.

         The 2/3 majority needed is part of the problem. Currently there is no 2/3 agreement on any issue.

            The Founders designed it this way. They didn't want the Constitution changed on the thought of the day. A simple majority of 51% could otherwise take away all rights of the other 49%.

   What is there to love in this Country that we are suppose to love any way. How can I leave when America has screwed up the economies of most of the World and pays them less then nothing that we already have here. Every time they get some where we over throw them and create new terrorist and new dictators. I do not say this because I hate my country but its the sad truth a lot of the time. Love it or Leave it, how about the truth and fixing it. If we lived up to Democracy, the so called American way and so called Patriotism I would love it, but we don't.  At least I do not pretend to be one and lie about the truth for what we really stand for today.

   I understand that perfectly well just like this fraud two party system where your vote does not really count for President any way. But these are the lies we are fed everyday and what they sell us and claim to be. We are none of the above ask any third World country.
