Does anyone know what can be done about an abusive follower?

I have a follower, who came out of nowhere, start berating me, I assume, over a conversation I'd had with someone else. His first comment I pretty much ignored, but then he started saying things that were just uncalled for. I flagged his profile with an explanation, but is there anything else that can be done? Should I contact a hubpages elite? I'm not sure how this is handled here.

    Thank you.

You should be able to deny (or delete) any comments from this person.  Are you moderating comments on your hubs?  Check your settings to make certain you have to approve all comments.  I think you can also delete those that have already been posted (not sure - never had to do that).

Keep flagging and reporting the person.  And even if you delete the comments, copy them for your records so you can forward them to moderators.

      Good luck!

Admin are the ones who handle this sort of thing, and you've done what you are supposed to do.  Deny the comments but don't delete them so that admin can see what's happening.

The "elite" people are just volunteer greeters and Hub reviewers, they have zero powers when it comes to user issues.

Thanks for clarifying the difference between the 'deny' key and deleting altogether, relache!  I agree - if they're kept in the system, moderators can research and document what's happened.

Sorry this is happening to you, Daughter of Maat.
At one time or another we all seem to have been subject to an irrational follower.
I second exactly what relache and Marcy suggested.
To further protect yourself (this from personal experience) disable emails until this crazy lunatic goes away. I had one who not only berated me in comments on my hub, but then started haranguing me on emails as well. That felt like a real invasion of privacy. I don't want that to happen to you.

Also second relache's explanation of what elites are. We are volunteers only. The name is a misnomer (unless you look at the "e" as for "extra effort"). Report to admin and just deny the comments.
Whatever you do (and I know you know this): Don't engage. Negative intimacy is still a win for these wack jobs.

    Good luck to you!

It's sad really, I wonder if they really think they'll ever change someone's mind, or does it just make them feel better? Thankfully he hasn't emailed me yet, but I'll do what you suggested and disable emails.

I figured the elites really couldn't do anything, but you never know. The e for "extra effort" is cute though lol.
