What can you do if you lose your cellphone or smartphone?

   Hey every1,
   
   Well you know how important it is our cellphone in our daily lives. There are many applications, unlimited important sms, contacts, videos and images that we take using our cellphone, saving notes  on schedule meetings, important personal id keys and so many other features that makes our daily lives so easy.
   
   However, what will you do in event that you misplaced your cellphone or lost it or even if someone stole it?
   
   What can you do to prevent it? Can you recover it?

      ust call your carrier and report your phone if you can't find it. if you need your phone call it follow the ring tone.if your friend has it, have a trusted friend send a txt/sms/tex/text/short/message to your phone stating "give[your_name] [his or her] phone his mom will kill him and not let him or her[somthing you and the friend that has the phone like to do and do all the time][friends_name]
      if you have a choice send it as a urgent message.

         well, if that is your friend has it, what is someone stole your phone.... how do u recover your phone. We know you can't recover your phone, but imagine the catastrophe, losing your data, sms, contacts, images, videos. Is there any software to recover all your data and wipe your private and confidential data?

      If you have an Android phone, you may be able to remotely install "Plan B" on it and have it report back its location.

         Plan B is really going to be your last resort to track your phone, but it only works when your phone is on, when it has a network connection, and has the ability to get a location from the GPS satellites.

   If you have lost your phone there are two immediate things that you have to do. First of all try calling to that number from another phone, if it was taken by someone intentionally he will switch off the phone. Or if it is in the hand of some gentle man he may give back it if you ask politely through phone.
   If it does not work you have to block the sim calling the carrier and also you need to file a case in nearest police station. Otherwise it may become a problem for you in future

   I had a friend who found a cell phone at a local club, and it was an Iphone. He thought he had hit a gold mine, and planned on keeping it, and using it for as long as he could. I told him to take it to the bartender, and maybe somebody would claim it. He of course said finders, keepers, losers, weepers.
   
   I said, you are going to be the one who is weeping when the phone company traces back all of the calls you make on that phone. Those phones also have tracking devices in them, where someone can know where you have called from and pin point exactly where you were when you called. So, you might wan to either turn it in, or put it back where you found it. Besides, what are you going to do if someone calls?
   
   He looked at it, and gave it to me, and said turn it in. I thought so.

      Interesting point.  What if you came across a car on the street that was unlocked and with keys in the ignition.  Could you just drive it away and claim that you "found" it?  No, there is a moral obligation to report it to authorities, attempt to find the owner, or just leave it alone.

   Todays smartphones can have many applications to get you back your cell phone... There are many smart phone tracker appications on Android .... Use them if you want to be on safe side ....
