Purposely using MFP images to promote your online articles.

   Just wondering - how many people are beginning to add MFP (Made For Pinterest) images to their work specifically aimed at getting pinned?
   
   For example an image related to the article, along with the article title, so people are more likely to click back and visit if they have an interest.

      Hi Wry.  I have been creating images specifically with Pinterest in mind, and adding them to a variety of hubs purely for the purpose of then linking the picture, and the hub, on to Pinterest.
      This has had mixed results, but I think it's another angle on marketing that is worth pursuing.
      And, it's quite fun.  Even if you end up just looking at what other people are Pinning, what's not to like about amusing, interesting pictures?

   Just thinking that the HubPages community should stop giving that site all the free publicity it has been receiving from our forums. Apparently, the site is not reputable, yet Hubbers seem eager to keep spreading the word.

      I do agree to a certain extent. However I also think it won't take long before they are FORCED to tighten their rules, and I'm doing everything I can to make that happen by writing my own articles and warning people both on and off Pinterest.
      
      But in the meantime, at least I can protect other pictures on my articles more by having ones that are fine to reshare on Pinterest.
      
      It's also possible to report pins - wondering if anyone has tried that and if it's worthwhile?

   I am with WSE. As soon as I heard that we could stop their button from appearing on our Hubs, I followed the instructions to remove it.

      Unfortunately taking the button off is unlikely to dissuade many people. It's still easy enough to do.

   Yes WryLilt, I probably will think along those lines. If anyone has the right to use my images and gain from them it should be me.
   
   The way I am looking at it is this -  All of my articles here had my own photos. Many of the images on my pages here were pinned before I was aware of it. Anything I do know comes under the heading of shutting the stable door after the horse has bolted.
   
   I have come to realize that the images you add to your hubs come under a different category to the text of your hubs, anyway.
   
   So in response to WryLilt's question - every image I add on line now will be posted with the knowledge that Pinterest exists.
   
   Keeping that in mind, in future I will use public domain images more or photos that I know will end up being used on Pinterest.
   
   I know that not every re-pin leads to a view as they can just view the image without a visit to the original location. They do need to click on the grey text address to read/visit your article.
   
   I do think the idea about the title with the image is useful.
