Given the topics and the debate we are faced with in this election year and understanding the political system the US has, what would be the outcome if everyone boycotted the polls this year and elected no candidate for president?
The electoral college would vote as they always do. Americans vote for electors who then vote for the president.
"monsanto family were slavers in the south 1st-rule by the real 1%-slaveowners who forced electoral college& then the FED on us-both must go"
Rosanne Barr, Green Tea Party candidate
It would mean a Republican landslide. And no, I am neither a Democrat nor an American.
The Writers Dog, I am curious as to why you say this. The intent would be that the American citizen has found discord with the incumbent and the opposing party's candidate. As a way to show their disapproval of both, a "revolution" takes place in the form of the boycott at the poll, where no vote is cast for either representative. The question/discussion is based around the constitutional structure in place to provide an official to sit as President of the US.

Who will WIN the American Presidency- Clinton OR Trump?

Do you think people who are "electors" have the right to vote against who people voted for?Christopher Suprun, a Texan and a Republican is one of the 538 people chosen to be "electors" - meaning one of those who will cast their vote in the Electoral College in a few weeks. ...
