There is much speculation about his whereabouts. That he traveled and learned from other cultures. How can I find out more?

I recently met, (and heard him)this cool young guy who studied under a Christian Minister, who, in turn studied under the Jewish Rabinic tradition, then became a Christian. (did that come out clear enough?)
Anyway, traditionally, all young men went to study the Torah till the age of 12. After that, those who excelled, went on to further study and training.
The cream of the (this) crop went on to even further advanced training to become Rabbis.
Apparently, Jesus did excel, and became an (elite, if you will) Rabbi. These guys didn't finish their training/studies till their 30's.
I can't prove this was the case, but certainly fits the New Testament clues about Him. (NOTE: many referred to Him as Rabbi, and they even said of His teaching as "one with authority", referring to His exceptional achievements in Rabbi "school".
Anyway, it blessed me heaps when I heard this, and it certainly answers a lot of open questions about certain scriptures.
Hope this goes some way to helping you get some answers to your question.

Jesus knew not another teacher except the word of his father in him, remember at 12 he was already
disputing with the so call well educated elite.

So until he began preaching he just lived each day as it comes, for he needed not create a stir until his proper time.
Note only his mom was convinced of his ability at the wedding of which he was a guest.

So to the general public he was merely that guy down the street.

I would have to disagree with dj's  assessment. I think, if the figure had advanced religious training, the pharisees would have commented to that fact. I think the gospel writers would have played heavily on it and Paul surely would have brought it up repeatedly.

No, the figure was shown to be someone who intuitively came to his deep understanding, as a child. The fact that his childhood is shrouded in mystery leaves no doubt to me that this means his childhood is of absolutely no importance to the message and that religious study inhibits the search for understanding.

I don't mind you disagreeing, seeing as it's not a "proven" scriptural position,  but I do notice you give nothing of substance to support your POV.
      Just sayin''

Obviously, there is nothing to give to support an opinion, other than our own opinions; or the opinion of someone whom we agree with. If there were documents to prove where he had been, there would be no room for opinions. smile

jesus was in India is something which is becoming popular day in recent times...there are Buddhist docs supporting that...but it cant be proven...infact many debate existence of historical jesus itself forget his lost yrs...when that can be doubted , how can where he was between 12 to 30 be proven?

Why bother trying to claim Jesus for India?

He was born a Jew, said Himself He was called to minister to the "house of Israel".

The only place He went outside of Israel was Egypt, when He was a small child.

Although I agree that the likelihood he spent time in India is small...you can't know that. The son of a common laborer couldn't have had many opportunities to do much, other than help out the family as he could. But, without documentation; even the claims that he spent time in Iceland learning to walk on thin ice have a place at the table of imagination.

This speculation can be somewhat unreasonable.
Things such as your Iceland example can be dismissed out of hand.
All one needs to do is take into account the full scenario that we DO have at our disposal, and hypothesize within the context of what is reasonable.
          India does not sound reasonable.
Iceland ( I realise you are not seriously suggesting that) is even more unrealistic.

          You get my point! big_smile

I get the point, but I think we can all agree that what is reasonable to one is often described as delusional by another. It's all idle speculation. If it were of any importance to the story it would not have been omitted, or......the omission itself is a clue to the meaning of rest of the story.

@aka-dj why shuld i claim?...for me where ever he was born is insignificant...whether he came to India or went to australia , means nothing to me...for me he was humble disillusioned man who died for his conviction like many do since humans beings began to think....

as long as people dont market him to me as god and interfere in my life , i am fine....

          We proclaim.
We have no control over who reads our proclamation.
If you read, you will have been "marketed" to.

Your refusal to accept the message is your free choice.
At least you will never be able to say "I didn't know, because no-one ever told me".

So, your faith/religion stops at death?
You don't believe in the afterlife (of any sort?)

no i dont believe in afterlife, though it is one of earliest concepts that human beings invented....according to me the concept is one of most impt concepts which fueled invention of god by human brain....

absolutely....it is powerful place to stand and more accountability since i owe my existence to ancestors who strived hard to take human race to where it is without support of any unseen super daddy....it is my responsibility to make sure that coming generation continue to excel and one of primary obstacles in this is religion which divides human race and kills for sake of unproven , unseen being....
