   TMZ.com is reporting that Davy Jones, lead singer of popular 60's group The Monkees has died.
   
   An official from the medical examiner's office for Martin County, Florida confirmed with TMZ they received a call from Martin Memorial Hospital informing them that Jones had passed away.

            He was only 66 years old. That's only a year older than me. Hopefuly I still have a lot of years left, so should have he. You are being just a little cold Dave. Greg

         I agree, shinkicker.  I didn't like every single song the Monkees put out, but they did lots of good stuff.  Too bad that the Fates took Davey Jones away so soon.

   They report that he had a heart attack...That's so sad--He was only 66 years old.

   I used to love the music of the Monkees too, and my favorite member of the group was Davy Jones. It's sad that he's died at such a relatively young age.

   Oh god, I'll have to tell my mom, she was a big Monkees fan back in the day. What a shame, and only 66 as well. Rest in peace Davy.

   I loved watching the Monkees when I was growing up (reruns in the eighties).  He was so young!  Too bad.

    I watch the Monkees on reruns too and I though he was the cute little one and he was always falling in love. I even remember him on the Brady Bunch with Marcia, Marcia, Marcia! Micky and Peter were funny and poor Mike had to be the adult. That's too bad, safe journeys Davy!

    Man, this is crazy to me.  Although my favorite Monkee is Mickey, Davey always had a huge place in my heart.  So sad.  What's worse is that he could never lift his career past The Monkees and always has small parts as himself in TV shows and movies just to keep relevant.

    There will always be a special place in my heart for David Jones. He was the first celebrity I ever interviewed and I was only 16. Davey was on Broadway playing the Artful Dodger in "Oliver". He will be missed.
