Reprisals Threatened Against American Soldiers as a Result of

   Massacre of Afghan Civilians
   
   According to Reuters today, Afghan insurgents fired on senior investigators who wish to investigate the massacres of Afghan civilians by an American soldier.  The Taliban added that they are going to behead American soldiers in reprisal for the massacres.   President Obama, of course, is incensed about the massacre and wants to withdraw American troops from Afghanistan. The American soldier who committed the act is under investigation.  However, it is uncertain whether he will be tried by Afghan or American authorities.  What is your premise on this?

      Bring him home and let us deal with him in a fair manner.  PTSD/TBI is a very serious illness that has put alot of soldiers and veterans in jail or have lost their lives due to suicidal tendency.  Our own government is to blame for the maltreatment and lack of care for our soldiers.  I am a victim of attempted murder by my own husband who suffers from PTSD/TBI, and I of all people know what is going on with these wounded warriors.  This is a very serious issue and it needs to be addressed in a holistic approach rather than pumping our men and women with benzodiazepine drugs which induce suicide, murder and aggression.

      It's time we stopped negotiating with terrorists, especially the Taliban.  Obama should issue a statement that their threat of intentionally beheading American soldiers will only result in teeing America off.  And Karsai and Afghani military leaders should join him in that statement.  And then if they won't, and we have to withdraw our troops, so be it, let Afghanistan try to clear the Taliban out on its own; then our soldiers can come home and secure just OUR borders and tighten OUR National security.  We're only trying to help Afghanistan while mutually defending both Nations, and it's Obama's weak leadership that has allowed the Taliban to turn these issues around so that America is blamed for all things.  Last I heard, soldiers agree to fight for America, not to be used as scapegoats between terrorists and limp-wristed Presidents.

         You saw this 1997 article right Brenda? The Taliban went to Texas. They refused to allow a pipeline to Halliburton investments although they were expected to allow it. So that is why Cheney got us into the middle east. He had to have that pipeline. The Taliban can be cruel, but they were armed by the US Texas oil company, Unocal and then said no to the pipeline. Afghanistan is all about oil, Brenda. Hate to burst your bubble of lack of understanding.

            Did you read the article in the post above yours Paul? The Taliban went to Texas. Bet you didn't know. The Taliban were supposed to build a pipeline to Caspian Sea oil investments owned by Halliburton, Cheney's old company, and then refused to do so.
            
            That gave the US motive to go to war in Afghanistan way before 911. Wake up.

         I'm glad this upsets you more than the 16 innocent men, women and children who were killed, then set on fire. You barely batted an eye over that.
         
         Of course, it's not the entire army's fault but that is the reason for this latest. The government of Afghanistan is not in control of the terrorists. I'm sure they would listen to a president telling them not to do it because it'll "tee" people off.
