I know one is not allowed to discuss earnings or your click rate but I am asking the question what is considered a decent click rate percentage, just curious, thanks !

If you are talking hubs it really depends on content, I have only been here a short while and i have noticed that my informational hubs like on PPC and adwords have much lower CTR than my product related hubs so i imagine it really depends on content.

However I can't really comment on CTR for hub pages as I haven't been here long enough, but on website, and other campaigns I have run a very good CTR is about 5% they are normally 2-4%.

According to the AdSense blog, 1 click for every 1,000 ad views (not page views) is considered normal.

Based on individual ads, I am doing better than this, but I can see that many who use AdSense do not have then number of adds that hubpages does/page view.  Clicks/page views are about 1% for me, which isn't much, but then, my writing isn't overly targeted.   I have no reason to complain.  smile

Deff don't complain mine is less than that 1% would actually do me nicely. Oh and I do hope my friend with the umbrella is having a good weekend smile

If my website had a hit rate of 0.1% I would rearrange the layout or content cuz somthing is not working, blogs and hubs i think are a different matter, 1 in 1000 might be about right, however my limited stats over 4 days indicate a higher CTR than 0.1% even on a hub.

My own target would be 1.5% but 2 would be a bonus, but deff not there yet but that is my target.

In direct mail marketing, without a targeted mailing list, a 1 percent response rate is considered really, really good. I think the internet is a bit like that.

What you really have to do is look at google analytics and try to figure out what type of traffic you're attracting.  Is it traffic that wants to click on anything. What are people typing in to get to your sites.

Good thing is 3/4 of my traffic is from outside Hubs and a lot is from direct keyword search but just can't get the buggers to click. I need lessons on getting readers to click, advice or links welcome !

To get clicks, place the adds first.  To do this, use a text capsule at the top and put about 150 words in it.  I know it is ugly, but it works.  Pictures can go beside your second text capsule.  The idea is to have readers see the adds before they have to scroll down.

This article is an example:  http://hubpages.com/hub/How-To-Redesign … New-Season

Did that in my last 2 hubs but not sure if I typed as much as 150 words, why 150 words any particular reason ?

150 words is about the amount of room it takes for the ad block to show up on the left hand side.  You can use less words, if you have a couple of paragraphs.

I have looked at your hubs, and while you did use the text capsule first, they do not have enough content in them to contain the add capsule, so it is pushed down, under your pictures.

Up to 300 minimum I would think is best BC99 smile so..150 words in one text capsule then another 150 in another capsule big_smile may help.

Ok maybe i'm too new to complain but with over 200 page views no click through from adsense but I'm getting clicks from Kontera.

I was wondering if Google had a problem with my pages.  My layout has the ads early.
