I'm stumped (and a little pissed) because I still have not received my Amazon payment.  Amazon is indicating that it was direct deposited on 12/29 - usually I get it right away, sometimes even a day or two before it shows.  My bank has no record of any deposit coming in from Amazon.  I did send an email to Amazon but have not heard back from them yet...just wondering if I'm the only "lucky" one??

They didn't even bother sending mine. Last month, for the fourth month in a row, they thoroughly messed up my payment. Then they told me I had to update my payment info, again, for the fourth month in a row. This month they told me they didn't send the payment because I updated my payment info in the middle of last month. Aaargh!

I received mine on 12/29 and my ebay a week earlier. I would stay on them. When I became an Amazon affiliate several years ago made it to my first payout I was disappointed because to this day I never received it.  They said they sent it as a gift certificate and I was quick to change my method of payment to direct deposit.  I've been getting regular payments every month since 2006 without a hitch.

    i checked:

my bank gave me the funds on 12/28

amazon says funds were released on 12/29

depending on your banks processing times and holiday schedule with the weekend and holiday - perhaps its still a little early to be pissed.

Hope it all goes smooth for you

I haven't seen mine yet, either, but over the years it has often been often late as the 3rd and several times not until the 4th.

I am sure it will turn up soon.

    mine was deposited on 12/28.

did you call your bank? you'll probably see it early this week. hope so.

Yes, I called my bank and they searched for any incoming direct deposit to the bank from 12/27-12/30 in the amount I told them it should be and they said nothing has come in...I'm stumped, but hopeful that it'll show up in the next day or two.  If it doesn't show up by Wednesday then I'll really worry.  This has never happened before - usually it's in my bank the day before Amazon says they deposited it!

Just got this response email from Amazon:

"I'm sorry you did not receive your direct deposit payment of $198.26. I have requested that our Accounts Payable department send your funds to your account as soon as possible.  Please note that transferring a deposit to your bank account can take up to 7 business days to reissue and 3 to 5 additional business days to reach your bank.

Thank you for your continued interest in the Amazon Associates Program. Have a great day!"

    ***************************************************************

I think that's weird - the second sentence almost makes it sound like they never sent it in the first place and it doesn't sound like they're surprised or concerned that I didn't receive it....am I just reading too much into it??

I don't know but thank goodness they seem to have figured it out! Does all sound funny. Some kind of internal error or glitch that they'd rather not admit.

LOL. I've been in those shoes before. In fact at my last position -bookkeeping at a private school- I frequently had to make up excuses, gloss over missed payments, and basically lie my ass off.

So glad I don't have to do that anymore. Your email there definitely sounds like a gloss-over.

Mine usually show up like clockwork, but I did have a problem with it one time. I emailed them, and it showed up pretty quickly after that. Good luck!

Yeah, mine's been like clockwork all along, too, until now.  Well I sure hope it doesn't take up to 12 more days to get it (as indicated that it could in their email)...

    Thanks, Lisa!

Thank you - I'm glad I'm not the only one who felt that way!  At least it will get taken care of now and hopefully this will never happen again!

That is weird... Even weirder was Susana's ordeal where her Amazon check bounced though.  Hmmmm...  I've yet to have a problem, mine come in on the 28th like clockwork, but now I'm checking for sure.

Happy holidays, Lily Rose.  I hope you get your money a.s.a.p!

Got this email TODAY from Amazon:

"Hello and thanks for writing to the Associates Program.

We have found that, due to a technical error, your payment was not sent on schedule.  We are working to issue your payment as soon as possible.

We value the trust of our Associates above all else--it is the foundation upon which the Amazon Associates Program was built.  Please know that this situation was the result of a technical error, and that in no way did we intend for this to happen.

If you have not received your payment within Ten business days, please let us know so that we may investigate further."

I thought I was already waiting 10 days from the last email - now I have to wait ANOTHER 10 days!?!  I'm so not happy with Amazon right now and it's making me not motivated at all to write any new hubs!

I hope you get sorted Lily. I once missed a check from them - they re-sent it as part of the next months. Not being in the US kinda slows things up I guess. As it happens I'm still waiting for the one they sent on the 29th December - though with the New Year and bank holiday I'm supposing (hoping) it will arrive any day smile

Lily this isn't that uncommon in the affiliate business. I've got this issue with about a dozen merchants right now. Not Amazon but others. Almost always the money arrives. So I try to keep working on my hubs and websites. It's really just part of the biz.

  22. Lily Rose profile image86

Thanks for the reassurance, Nelle.  This is the first time it has happened to me and it just happens to ba at a time when I actually was counting on this money for my budget so this has caused all kinds of havoc on my wallet!  At leasy I now know that this is possible...

Another reason to diversify and work with lots of merchants. Somebody always pays - somebody always doesn't pay. But at least some money comes in. Welcome to the world of a small businessperson. I hate nagging merchants for payment.

    Hi lily,

I've contacted you a few weeks ago regarding this issue. I know you had this issue with Amazon about 14 months ago but I am going through this issue now. I receive the same email from Amazon after waiting two weeks for my payment.

That was February 8, 2012 and I haven't been pay for November nor December earnings. Amazon keep on telling me that that it's technical error and that they're working on it. So i I have been waiting over a month and half for November payment and almost a month for December earnings.

My question is, how long did it take for Amazon to resolve this issue?

  25. Greekgeek profile image78
    Greekgeekposted 12 years ago

There was some snafu about Amazon payments in December: a lot of us received an email telling us they'd accidentally sent a check instead of direct deposited, and they'd be refunding us the cost of the check fee (which they did). In my case, the check went to an old address, and never reached me, so I then had to contact Amazon Associates and get the remainder direct deposited to me.

Sounds like your account had more of the same issue. They'll take care of it, but it is very annoying! I think I got my money about two weeks after I reported it missing.

I had the same thing as GG - cheque instead of direct payment.  I think Amazon were deliberately trying to push payments into the following tax year myself, but that's just specualtion.

Ok here is a better understanding of my issues with Amazon. I will just copy and paste what I wrote in another forum.

      Hi Guys,

I was wondering if anyone has gone through or going through payment issues with Amazon. Amazon owe me two months of commission totaling $4700. It started when I got the email that Amazon send associates, letting them know that payment has been sent. By the way I am in the US and I have Direct Deposit. So anyways, I waiting about a week to contact Amazon. I receive a reply back from them on February 8, 2012 and here what they said.

"Thank you for writing. We've found that, due to a technical error, your January payment was not sent on schedule. We are working to issue your payment as soon as possible. I'm really sorry for the inconvenience this causes for you.

We value the trust of our Associates above all else--it is the foundation upon which the Amazon Associates Program was built. Please know that this situation was the result of a technical error, and that in no way did we intend for this to happen."

Now I know for sure that my payment was never sent out, so I waiting again. After waiting ten days or so I email them again and here what Amazon said...

"I'm sorry for any inconvenience caused by not receiving your payment in the amount of $3,803.08.

Please know that my colleague is currently working on the issued with our Accounts Payable department to get this payment out to you as soon as possible. In researching it appears that the payment will go out within the 2 weeks. However, once she receives any additional information she will notify you via email.

Once again, I'm sorry for the inconvenience this technical issue pertaining to your payment has caused.
If you have not received your payment within 12 business days, please let us know so that we may investigate further."

That was Feb 18th, so now I'm thinking to myself that I will get that payment with next month payment cycle. March 1st came around and guess what no payment and no communication beside the auto payment message I receive on March 1st for this month payment. So I email them again and they reply back the next day and said

"Thank you for writing. I'm very sorry to hear that your January reissued payment did not go out as scheduled, and the inconvenience this has caused for you. We are currently investigating this issue with our Payments technicians. We will send additional correspondence as soon as we have more information.
Thank you for your patience while we work to resolve this matter."

Okay I'm not sweating it that much because I'm thinking to myself I have $908 coming in from them within a few days. Sure enough I waiting and waiting and no payment. Amazon does it to me again this month, two months in the row. So this time I decided to call them by phone, and they told me that March payment wasn't mail out either. And they are still working on Feb payment, so I ask them when will i receive those two payments, they said they have no idea.

how are you making that amount of money from Amazon associate program. I have had many sales but they do not equal up to much when it comes to my payout. I promote my aStore in at least five different ways but no luck. So how are you so successful with it?

  26. WryLilt profile image89

Eh at least you get yours almost straight away. Living outside the US means I have to wait for them to mail me the cheque then wait an average of 6 weeks for it to clear...
