    Hi,

The copied hubs section under my accounts tab is not freshening up on a routine basis as it used to a few months back. As this is a great feature for hubbers, please make it activated on a frequent basis so that we can get to know about more hubs that have been copied by other people.

A quick response will be highly appreciated.

    Thanks,
    soni2006

Every time I click the copied hubs link it says "no copied hubs found at this time", yet Copyscape/Copysentry finds copies of my hubs elsewhere. I don't think it works.

Agreed. Edweirdo had a great site that checked duplicated content on hubs, but it hasn't been around for awhile. I've only ever had one hub marked as duplicated but I know there are more than that...

I believe Soni is referring to the copied hubs program only some of the Hubbers have access to.  Not everyone is furnished with this aspect of HP, only those with high traffic, If I'm not mistaken!

You can't view this section? http://hubpages.com/my/hubs/copied

I was under the impression everyone could see it, and it was run once per month.

"You are not authorized to view this page".  This is what I get when I click on the link.  As I said......!smile

What have I told you about trying to think, Wry Lit?  lol  No seriously, someone from staff--I forget who--posted on the forums not long ago about only SOME Hubbers having the feature.  They said it was too expensive to allow everyone to have it.  I don't understand why, especially if it doesn't work any better than some say it does.  Perhaps all greeters have this perk and weren't you one at one time?

Same. I think it has to do with traffic/earnings.

Speaking of freshening up, I've had all the pages removed from the sites copying the content on the list, so they're no longer copying. Just wondering how I can get this list shorter now that it seems nobody on the list appears to be copying my hubs.

I didn't knew that this facility was for hubbers with high traffic but whatever is the case, it's not freshening up on a frequent basis. Actually, I have more than 100 hubs that have been copied because right now I am in the process of manually searching them via google but if this "copied" feature freshens up on a frequent basis, it would be very helpful. In the last two to three years, I have filed so many DMCA complaints that my mail is full of emails I received from different sites and many from google. People have not stopped copying my hubs and I think this is also the reason I am seeing less traffic on my hubs that have been copied plus copied articles are also a nuisance for your online reputation.

Well, I don't know about high traffic Hubbers only having access to this section.  I'd bet there are exceptions to the rule. smile

Like Randy, it's been a long time since I had access to this program, but to be truthful, it wasn't terribly good anyway.

It only ever seemed to pick up on a fraction of the hubs copied, and the copyright symbol remained on those hubs for months after you'd had the copy taken down, which was annoying.

    Now let's see what happens.

I thought everyone had access to this..

Mine says no copied hubs at this time, almost always.

Nope, everyone doesn't have access, Rebekah!  Of course, not all of us are treated the same here.  I can vouch for that, I promise you!  smile

But Randy I am not sure about this. It is possible that Rebakah's hubs are not copied or might be possible the widget is not working properly.

I believe Relache said the program wasn't really that accurate and missed lots of copied hubs.  But as I'm not allowed to access the program, I cannot personally vouch for anything to do with it.  You might ask a greeter, they probably have it.  smile

I found a copied hub last night by checking an image. It went to a blog on FanBox, and there was my hub copied word for word along with images. The author has the name of Tom Pathak. There are other articles there, they may belong to others. It appears to be a Facebook app.

I'm  replying to my own post because I need assistance. hmm  The blog I found my copied hub on seems to be an app. When I copied the URL to send to the site admin of FanBox, it's simply a single post with a zillion codes. The link goes to a page that says this: "We're sorry. This page has been blacked out. It looks like the little guy has been chewing on the cable again..."

I have entered the blog title/Fanbox into search and it's there. How do I contact the admin if the URL I include does not go to the page.  I posted in the comments of one of the pages and sent the blogger a message. No response.

Your best bet is to search google anyway. I have it and it doesn't always show everything.

The reason not every hubber has this feature is because it costs a lot of money to run it, thus HubPages would run it only for the hubbers whose hubs bring enough profit in to warrant it necessary. That said, even those hubbers should manually check their stuff on Google.

One hubber suggested something where Google sends you an email when an article is duplicated. I forgot what this feature is called but essentially you give Google a phrase to search for and whenever a new result comes up with that exact phrase, they send you an email. It's a good way to get notified quickly when someone copies. That way, you can act fast.

I don't understand why it would cost so much money if it isn't worth a cr*p, nor why some, who have no more traffic than others here, do have it.  But then, there's plenty here which doesn't add up, so no big whoop!  lol

I've never had it, even when I was making hundreds of dollars a month before being sandboxed only last August.  So I suppose one has to make thousands a month to qualify for it.  You guys must be raking the cash in!  lol

That's my point.  I've been here longer than you and never had the feature.  But hey, I'm never surprised at the goings-on here anymore.  I learned from my very first experience of writing on content farms not to expect across the board equality for site members. Some always get perks others do not.  It's to be expected!  lol  Fun and games for the minions, no doubt!  lol

I wonder how much traffic you need to get access to this feature?

I don't know exactly but when my traffic spiked by about 500% about three months ago I saw the feature in my account page.
