If you're looking for a quick description of the stereotype:
Their religion allows for lending money. The Christians could not lend money back in the day, nor could Islam, at least not with interest as we know it. The concept of USURY is a big deal behind all of this.
So, because Jewish people could run banks, and because banking is fairly essential in the real world where wealth accumulates rather than growing evenly year after year in some orchard where each new generation can go pick some, they were asked to do just that: loan money.
In the American colonies, it was tacit, sort of a "Psst, hey, Goldstein, open a bank. We can't lend money without looking like a-holes, but you can. We'll all grouse about you publicly, but, just between us, we're solid. Don't pay any attention to what we say out loud." It's a great system when both parties are cool with it, but it always backfires on the Jews when times get tough.
It's been like that for a couple of thousand years. Now, Christianity is pretty much unraveling because it allowed for free thinking (except for the Catholic version) so, well, critical thought happened, and, well, Christianity destroys itself by it's own sense of reason and open-mindedness, ironically proving that Jesus probably was exactly who he said he was at the same time it proves he totally wasn't what the adherents want him to be in a simple, unthinking sort of way. But, I digress.
So, to the point of your thread title, why people blame the Jewish people, the problem is simply a matter of religion, way back when critical thought was not particularly popular, and, since money works like it does and always has, their religion put them, perpetually in a state of wealth that, as we all know, makes everyone else hate them. Jealousy being what it is, and, honestly, greed being what it is too (have a look at the modern economic problems caused by banking and the founding principles of it)... etc.
You can add to that, just for fun, because I know this is too long and nobody will read it, Jews also kept pets (dogs) because they had no religious taboos against it. So, when the plague broke out in Christian Europe, they did not die in the same numbers that Christians did. Christians saw this as evidence of their conspiring with Satan, just as the pagan "witches" did (midwives), who kept cats.
Well, since the plague is transmitted by fleas living on rats, guess whose households had lower rates of death than the "pure" Christians who didn't tolerate animals? Yeah, the evil Jews and evil pagans.
So, more reason to hate jews, they are in league with Satan for lending money and allowing animals in their house.
Had never heard that before. I had read that it was hygienic ritual bathing habits (constant handwashing and bathing in a mikvah, which is required to have fresh water), and some kashrut (salting meats to draw out blood) and burial (must be buried within 24 hours) requirements that also minimized the transmission of the bubonic plague within the Jewish population.
Those may have added to the "evidence" for Satan's favor too.
Some of it must come from the natural opposition to the Rothschild Zionists, just taken to extreme levels.
Yes, particularly among those who think that all Jews are Rothschilds, and that the Rothschilds were somehow different from all the other Gentile wealthy dynasties (Carnegies, Adamses, Rockefellers, etc.) - the usual double-standard at work.
Well, it goes back further than banking! The Jews were blamed for hanging Jesus on the cross! The Pharisees did not believe that Jesus was the son of God and argued over it, when He was brought before them to be questioned. Then he was thrown in jail. So when it came to picking which one was going to go free as they did on this holiday every year, the towns people (Jewish) chose Barabas to be set free.
It's sad how stories can be accepted as fact, and be used as a pretext for centuries of violence.

Are Yahweh and Allah the same god?Christianity, Islam and Judaism are all 'Abrahamic Religions' stemming from the same source material. Though they all went off in different directions, it's not unreasonable to assume they are still referring to that original deity. This one god goes by many names...

In the Bible it is clear that Jesus was Jewish. You will find it written multiple times, however what religion was he leading the followers to? Catholicism believes that Jesus told Peter, " And I say unto thee, thou art Peter and upon this rock I will build my church; and the gates of Hell...

Why is it so bad to talk about Jews? Mel Gibson did it, and his career went down the drain. Gary Oldman defended Mel Gibson, and now we will likely see his career fade into oblivion as well. Israel is illegally occupying a Palestinian territory. That is a fact. Why...

Jesus was born a Jew, but some Christians hate Jews, why?The first Christains were Jews. The apostles were Jews. Jews gave us the scriptures. So, why do some Christians hate Jews so much? When Christ comes back He is going to go to the JEWS and claim them as his people. What say ye haters of Jews?...

Why Does The World Hate The Jewish People?

I think that the Christian religion would have been entirely different, if Apostle Paul hadn't screwed things up. It is my firm belief that if Christians really want to be Christ-like, they need to have a dual faith based, religious, belief system. As it is, how can any of us Christians...
