I thought today and the last few days would be everyone going crazy over taxes, and thus lowered internet usage. On a relative basis my traffic was good today. And I don't have one single tax hub. Twitter likewise was booming.
Any thoughts?
I've done a lot better on Adsense today than usual. Perhaps folks getting refunds will help with affiliate sales a bit. Not counting on it though!
If this keeps up, I'm going to start looking for hub ideas again.
I never run out of ideas for articles. But hubs are a different matter altogether!
A hub about rainbows!
Happy to report that my search traffic has risen nicely, compared to a couple months ago.
Mine has risen a bit too. It's about where it was a couple of years ago but still less than two thirds of what it was last summer. My typical peak season is still over a month away, though. Hoping for the best!
I truly do hope it recovers, and more. I suppose most of us feel that way about it, Randy.
I think we all want better traffic for our fellow writers, Jason. Even some of the former high traffic writers have reported up to 60% losses lately. Apparently Google is ticked off at HP in general, not just a few of us. Well, I'm not too surprised ever since I found out there were so many spammy and misleading hubs drawing literally millions of views before the first Panda slap a year ago February.
Remember the many "Auntie" hubs showing full nudity which used to appear during the weekends? Whew! This site needed a conk upside the gourd! But we all paid for those hubs being published, it seems. Well, at least this place has been cleaned up a bit because of it.
The measures being taken to improve quality are what should get the site into good graces with Google. I understand what happened, and how the site is evolving. I, like everybody else, don't understand why some are more affected than others, unfortunately. And yes, of course, writers want good writers to succeed here, because it's the basis of hope for the people, like me, that are just getting into this. We need your traffic to recover, and for the best and "most-tenured" writers here to have success. Undoubtedly, the staff here knows that, and are trying to figure out more and more means to ensure quality site-wide, if that's possible.
Hi Para, maybe after filing their taxes online they search more and that is good news!
My traffic was better yesterday and Sunday, but still not up to what it was in the fall. Today, it's down.
When I am dealing with my finances for the tax man, I get so bored, I tend to surf the Net randomly as light relief far more than when I do my proper work.

This is a two-fold issue. I know we're in the middle of a Google Typhoon or whatever animal is wreaking havoc this month plus the summer traffic is, well, obviously somewhere else. In January/February of this year, my traffic was around 2000 views per day. Right now, I'm lucky if I crack 400. I'm...

I was loving that my traffic was doubled for a while... it was hitting levels I had never seen before on HubPages. But today I just noticed it's down at least 1,000 views, and I check pretty much every day.I'm not sure what could have caused this but the only thing I've done different is I've been...

Traffic fallen off a cliff todayMy traffic is at an all time low. Is this a site-wide issue and is it related to the other tech issues that seem to be causing havoc around here ?My hubs were flying 2 days ago, now they have been torpedoed and sunk like a lead balloon.I know i'm mixing my metaphors....

Is anyone else seeing a strange spike today? I've been getting less than 10 page views per day lately, but it's over 500 today and still rising. The source is undetectable using Analytics, Webmaster Tools, or HubPages Sources. I'm still getting 0 from Google and less than 20 from HubPages.What's...

I've been slowly going up the scale with my page views, to the point where my daily views are usually close to 350 total per day. All of a sudden today it began dropping, and is now down to 241.Is that normal? I can't find any message that there was a problem with my pages, and some of...

I am puzzled because even when my traffic gets a bit better (low for some, but still good for me right now), my CTR rate for Google is almost always nothing. I get something from Google about once a month, if that, with 58 hubs written. Does anyone else find the CTR quite poor for hubpages, or is...
