I wanted to contact a hubber privately, and there is no "contact so-and-so" link on her profile.  Is this a new change--has that been taken away, or is it something we ourselves can set?  (If so, I've not seen any place to do place an "invisible contact" setting.)

Thank you again, for your patience with this slow learner...

Yes, you can change the "email" settings for others to contact you. It is under "edit profile" - email settings. wink

Ah--ok.  Because she apparently has not seen her comments in a day or two--as she has responded to most, but not the most recent.

I wanted to let her know that some outside-of-HP person left a barrage of negative feedback on her topic and it was a truly horrible piece of work, not a single positive mention--the person tore her hub apart at every level they could find...including the exact phrase, "you should take an axe to it."

This was uncalled for in a place for public view...embarrassing for the writer, and uncomfortable for other readers.  I left a second comment addressing whomever it was, and gave them a piece of my mind about it.  Whether or not they come back and find the scolding is probably doubtful, but it needed to be said...I just wanted to let her know I had taken it upon myself, and that she was free to delete the comment.

The thing that irked me about this ignoramus was that this harsh critique was on a hub that had been selected as Hub of the Day!

Some folks just have to be the center of attention. Usually writing arrogant and harsh comments on hubs and in the forums fulfills this need to be "noticed." I have seen this over and over here and on various other sites.

To me it shows one thing, and that one thing is ignorance of how to conduct oneself online.
