Why doesn't my hub have a score of 100?

   A web examiner told me this would sound like self promotion, but there is no other way to ask the question.
   
   I posted a question asking why one of my golf articles that has been out there for over 3 months is listed as #1 in the HOT listing out of 1,730 golf articles and #5 in the BEST listing at the time of my question and only has a score of 89.  What more does it take to achieve the score of 100 than being #1?
   
   Withing 2 hours of asking the question, my article dropped to #23 on the BEST list and my question was removed.  Why was it removed and I still do not have an answer to the original question.

      Thanks, relache.  Just read the 4 components to scoring.  Evidently, I am lacking in reader's comments on my hub which, of course, I have no control of.  Okay, what about the removal part?

   Everyone has "control" over readers comments @Discovery, if you write an article that is thought provoking, controversial, highly interesting then people will comment.. If it is a regurgitation of information that is available across thousands of other pages then people will just click away with out comment..
   
   Readers need to be engaged and entertained - will help with google too..
   
   Saying that some subjects just don't encourage comments.. They take the info you offer and go... no gratitude some people..

      That is what confuses me.  This was not available across thousands of pages.  It was unique, informative and extremely helpful.  Therefore, I must lure the ungrateful.  You and others have helped me out today.  I only have 4 months.  Lots to absorb, yet.  Thanks, leanman.

      Yes, and there's no telling which articles will get comments and which won't.  That's life, and as everyone says, scores mean nothing anyway.

   Scores don't matter.  If you HAVE to worry about numbers on HubPages, worry about your traffic and earnings. Trying to control what seems to be a largely arbitrary rating will just drive you crazy.

   Two things to consider about HubScores:
   
   1) they mean absolutely nothing outside of HubPages
   2) a Hub with a score of 89 could be a lot more profitable than a Hub with a score of 100.

   Hub score doesn't mean anything very much.  Sure, it's an ego boost to see yourself up there, flying among the cream de la creme, but eventually gravity takes hold again.
   
   I am lucky to have several 100 score hubs at present, but I'm sure it is just luck, rather than any excellence in my presentation, knowledge, and whatever.
   
   Let me just go and check and I'll put some links up as you've asked.
   
   edit: I checked.  I don't have any. Not even close.
   
   Although I did have one once I think and this picture seems to prove that...
