My new hub doesn't have a moving Pinterest icon to show how many times it has been Pinned.

Here is the url of the page:

Is this forum monitored by anyone who can fix this? If not, how does one get the message to the technical people?

I would have figured that someone would have responded to this by now. hmm

Please don't do that again. That was absolutely absurd.

I was responding to your initial forum thread on this topic, then you deleted it for some odd reason.

Now, you have reposted your thread. Ridiculous/Absurd is the only thing that comes to mind about the actions you've taken.

Having said that, I will now repost my post to your original thread.

I am using Google Chrome and I do not see the Pinterest "Pin It" on the hub in question. I have posted the picture I took of it missing.

I'm sorry. It looked like maybe my message belonged in the traffic section of questions, but on closer inspection it looks to me like this is the better place.

Thank you for checking and for the screen capture!

HubPages has added the feature. This is just a glitch.

There is an option to opt out of the pin it button, I wonder if that's the problem? I checked one of my hubs and I have a pin it button:

Go to your account page, select your profile, then on the left in the little box you'll see "Social Networks" as the last selection and it's under that. big_smile

          Thank you.

Pinterest wasn't disallowed. :-/ So there is a glitch. The Pinterest option appears on my other pages that I checked.

That's quite odd. But there are quite a few weird things going on with the new layout that I've noticed! Go figure...

I just viewed your last 6 hubs and 3 hubs didn't have Pinterest on them.

              Thanks Cagsil.

The problem is still there. It's unfortunate because there have been exactly 800 visits in the last 24 hours just to the one page.

Sorry for any confusion this may have caused.

Pinterest buttons are available for Hubs with large enough images to display well on Pinterest.

We use the first image in the Hub that is at least 200 pixels wide and at least 150 pixels tall. This also includes thumbnail images from HubPages videos (not those hosted elsewhere and embedded).

If there is no image in the Hub that meets this size criteria, or if you have opted out (http://hubpages.com/my/profile/socialnetworks), then the Pin It button won't appear on a Hub.

Aha!! That makes sense! Pinterest is all about pictures afterall.

This is not particularly intuitive, so we have added it to the FAQ.

If the sizing is changed, such as by selecting half size instead of 1/4 size, will that make a difference?

If it does, how long does it take for the Pinterest icon to show up?

                @Kelly Eidem
                Good questions!

The Pinterest button is available based on the size of the source (uploaded) image and not on the size at which the image is displayed in a Hub.

So the layout of the Hub (1/4 size, etc) should not have an impact upon the availability of the button.

Good to know, even if I don't have the problem. wink

I have never used the Pinterest button even though I pin regularly.

I just go to Pinterest and put my HubPage link in, then choose the picture I want.

    Seems pretty easy really.

Pinterest seems to have it's own criteria anyway - size IS important sometimes.
