I don't think the corporation will give the spices up.  I am not even sure they are using the same formula these days.  I seem to remember the chicken tasting differently a long time ago.  That happens sometimes when the original owner is out of the picture.

Honestly, the best fried chicken I have had came from a little joint in South Dallas.  Perfect amount of salt, crispy skin, and tender meat inside. They had two pieces of white bread soaking up the extra grease, something KFC does do for their customers.

SORRY TO SAY I searched the net sorry combed it...but the secrets a secret man...there were so many kfc workers who had commented.........saying all sort of herbs and even rubbish,,,,,,,,, but do you think kfc is stupid. They get the mix from the main factory and what these people in the restaurant do is just dip and fry....
The closest I got is on one of my hubs
Make chicken like KFC..And I am glad to get all positive comments.

Then again my recipe has no herbs it tastes like a relation of KFC..

IN CASE YOU SUCCEED IN FINDING, DAVE, REMEMBER I AM WAITING WITH MY MOUTH OPEN.

Cagsil is right...hehe...why don't you give it a try.
Even if you don't uncover the secret you at least get to eat KENTUCKY FRIED CHICKEN...

I was told "Nature's Seasonings" contained the essential spices used in the KFC recipe.  Never tried it though!  smile

My bestfriend worked for KFC and McDonalds during his college years. I asked him what the hell are those 11 secret herbs and spices. He didn't know as well. I guess that is really a secret no one from them would bother tell smile

The key ingredients are salt, black pepper and msg.  Anything else you add is just for show.

I am a food creator that what I do and to be honest with you we will never be able to really get the percise way kfc prepares there chicken i HAVE TRY MANY TIMES TO GET CLOSE but everytime I tried it was close but no cigar but what I can do is share the spices that I felt was part of spices 1 teaspoon ground oregano
      1 teaspoon chili powder,
      1 teaspoon ground sage
      1 teaspoon dried basil
      1 teaspoon dried marjoram
      1 teaspoon pepper
      2 teaspoons salt
      2 tablespoons paprika
      1 teaspoon onion salt
      1 teaspoon garlic powder
      2 tablespoons Accent
These may be the spices but there are so many different things they can do the the chicken before  they even apply these spices like a rub or a brine wet or dry one thing I do know the chicken is pressured fried even the cooking oil can make the difference.

it would be secret infringement. I wouldn't do that if I were you. It could become more important than what's happening in the Presidential campaign.

The last time I ate KFC was about 12 years ago.  I could not tell you about what herbs and spices was in the chicken because everything was soaked in grease.  It was enough to make anyone gag.  Also, aren't fast food employees required to sign a waiver and not reveal any industry "secrets"?  A friend of mine had a son who briefly worked for Jamba Juice, and before they hired him, he had to sign a waiver saying that he would not share any of the recipes.

I worked for KFC in my younger days.  The breading mix comes pre-packaged in plain  white bags that don't list ingredients.  They use corn oil and the chicken is soaked in salt water before breading...  that's the best I can do.  Sorry.
