If you write about fashion at all, beware of a content thief I've run across. This individual or group of individuals has stolen many of our hubs. But, here's the part that's really a pain: they're scattered ALL over the world wide web. I've found quite a few of mine already and have filed DMCAs with Google.
If you're interested in checking out whether or not your material has been stolen, all you need to do is Google "liulifang". Most of my hubs were stolen under the alias "liulifang22", but there's "iulifang" plus every conceivable number after the alias, too. 11 is another big one.
You can get an inkling of how much this thug likes to steal hubs when you Google the name and the word "hub". Of course in this case your hub will only show up if you happen to have used the word "hub". But, I'm just trying to demonstrate just how many have been ripped off.
I wish I could direct you all to just one website. But, that's not how these people roll. OH NO! The content is scattered literally everywhere... from Wordpress blogs to Blogger to Livedoor. You name it, it's there.
Funny thing, this individual (or group) is also here on HP. Under the same name but with different numbers again. I've yet to see any hubs published from the accounts, however.
If you do find any of your hubs copied, don't even try to contact the web host. Most of them are in Japan or China and I got nowhere. Not even sure why I tried, really. Anyway, just go directly through Google.
This whole thing has totally pi$$ed me off. I really want to see him/her/them/IT go DOWN... Anyway, though you all should know.
Hi Laura..
So sorry to see this YET AGAIN.. I know exactly how you feel mate!
Thanks for the Heads up. Other than this... hope you're doing okay
Take care.. PD
Hi Rob,
I know you know how I feel. It's totally exasperating! I am just hoping I actually get somewhere with Google. I have no idea how long it will take to get the material down. I normally go to the web host because they are quite expeditious. Anyway, hope you are well!
Thanks WS, unfortunately, it will never stop, and probably only increase. They figure out how to work it and do it until they're caught, and start over again.
Anyone with that many links about Ugg boots..
Good luck with that DMCA if the thief is Chinese.
In my experience, they return the DMCA form with their excuses/apologies to Google using the counter claim form.
That's it. Game over. Google tells you to employ a lawyer and wash their hands. They don't even bother using their own translate service.
Theft is rife on the Internet. In actual fact, the big Google actually scrape all web content and deliver it to subscribers by way of Google Reader, so they're no better. But seeing your hard work appear on other people's websites being claimed as their own is really annoying. It happened to me recently and here's what I did:
* I found the contact details of the thief using WHOIS
* I then contacted the thief with the following email
Dear Sir/Madam
I've noticed that you have taken some unique content from the website: (my site here), and published on the pages of (thief's site here)
You may or may not have known that it's illegal to take content from one site and publish it on another without permission, so I will give you the benefit of the doubt and ask to you remove 'ALL' the content taken from (my site here), within 48 hours.
If the content remains, then I shall notify (their hosting company here), and inform them of the situation.
Regards
Andy Aitch
I got a reply within 1 hour which simply said:
DONE!
It was almost as if the crook was annoyed with me for catching him/her out!
Hope this helps

I find this all so depressing. Can anyone tell me how long after filing a DMCA complaint does it take to resolve these issues - or is it as long as a piece of string? How does earth does one motivate oneself to write more hubs when this continues to happen.

Please make a note of all of us in several forums that have found so many (or our) hundreds of copied hubs onto other sites. Read the threads because they contain so much information and then DO SOMETHING about it for all of us at Google. NOW.I've only just begun to look for stolen hubs and...

I have a number of hubs whose content has been stolen. I've tried to trace the people and the websites, in order to file a DMCA but I keep getting a dead end - many are posted on sites in India etc. Is there any point in trying to continue with this? I seem to have wasted so much time trying to...

I can't seem to find an answer for this in the learning center. I have a large set of articles I've been writing for a while + some time on my hands to dedicate to Hubpages for the next couple of months. Would publishing 10 hubs a day benefit or disadvantage me, both in terms of hub score /...

I found out this morning that this site had stolen at least 2 of my hubs. The more I looked, the more I noticed that it appears every single post on the site is a stolen hub, completely copied in most cases (including the authors' names and copyright notes, ironically). I see lots of names of...

I posted this hub about MOPS a few days ago: http://thatmommyblogger.hubpages.com/hu … S-Meeting. It took me hours to write, and I wrote it about a very personal topic. There is no chance that I plagiarized it, and I did not post it on any other site.I'm getting a duplicate...
