All those in favor please drop a message... I think we do.... Expressions help in showing excitement and establishing a more proper connection,
Also... I agree with the fact that the power of words is mightier and greater but just for the fun of it..
Hubpages authorities.... please listen to me
Great idea and addition to ratings. What was it I heard? Oh yes, "A picture is worth a thousand words." Wish I had said that.
I always add a smiley at the end of a comment. Just like an exclamation mark shows excitement, a smiley shows a happy emotion. To me it shows a little added appreciation for someone that has commented on my hub.
I think they are fun, seem to make things a bit more personal, and add a little extra punch to one's comment.
Count me in I love to use them and often have wished in my hearts of hearts that HubPages should add a little smiley box as well. So yes, i am in very much favor of your idea
I often add smileys in my comments. It adds a light touch and shows a warm heart. Great idea!
Is HP noticing .. I think we need more help .............. lemme do smthn
Bring on the smileys! I think they would brighten the place up!
It will definitely add a zing to the comments section. Good idea, rahul
The "smiley" doesn't need to be in graphic form. Most people know what they look like by now, except for the people who are newest to the Internet itself.
Personally, I don't think it matters.
for the expressions at least my friend..... for that little personal touch..
no offence
And as I said, to me it doesn't matter. I don't need to see the graphics to know what it means. I know what it means.
Continuing to add features to HubPages which are not needed, might actually drive HubPages to charging to use it's Platform.
Do you want to pay to use HubPages? It's free right now.
I tend to use the to let a person know my comment is meant to be funny so they don't take offense. Some people will take something literal and miss the humor.
Love smiley's. Would make things terrific seeing those smiley faces along with comments.
Emoticons are great for forums, but I would prefer to not have them on my hubs. If HP did add something like this, I hope they would add an opt-out to our hubs also. I don't see where they would benefit the hubs. I would hate to delete comments just because of emoticons.
That is my opinion.
I have to agree..and I'm a person who overuses smileys
I think it would be great to have smilies added to the comment box.
Thank you all for chiming in. Agree with Michael that if we do it, we would need to make a control to allow authors to opt out who don't want it on their Hubs. That does complicate the development somewhat. :-O
However, I will track this suggestion and see when/if we can work it in to our development plans.
+ I like the kind we make ourselves, no yellow smileys on hubs, please.
I think using ": )" on the hub is enough and not as graphic. The actual smiley face will make some hubs look unprofessional to me and I know that some hubbers will not want people using it on their hubs so I say give hubbers the option of opting out for individual hubs. For example I have a hub on a very serious subject like "Scarlet fever", I wouldn't want a smiley face in the comments there, but my hub on "how to annoy your boss" is humour so I don't mind having them in the comments there.
I'm not a fan of graphic emoticons on hubs, so count me in with the group favoring an 'opt-out.' The text-based ones are enough for me.

If I see an error on someone's hub, should I tell them? Or is that bad HubPages etiquette?I'm talking about a spelling error or something similar.

If I am not wrong comments were moderated before we were given the chance to view them and choose to accept or deny it, at least in case of unregistered users. Am I wrong in thinking this was the case and it was just something on QnA?If it was, is this no longer the case?I have been getting a lot...

I still think comments should be comments, not discussions, that is the purpose of a forum. Maybe it would be a good idea that every author has a forum automatically made in a widget on there profile page and the topics are always the title of the Hub. That way you can discuss it and always edit...

Since there has been a number of cases of stolen HP content, and the upcoming feature, I was thinking that instead of all hubbers creating a Copyright notice, maybe HubPages could create an automatic message that shows somewhere on each hub.And for those that would rather create their own message...

Everybody is wondering how the team plans to remove the editbots from the stats pages. Apparently they are there to indicate that edits have been made so that writers can check their articles for correctness, but there are many questions about when and if they will be removed as there seems...

I think it would be beautiful if we can express our feelings to our friends here through some effective emojis. What is your opinion please.I would like to hear it from the staff also.
