the supreme court ruled today obamacare is constitutional, the right wing extremists have been celebrating for weeks the court deeming the whole thing unconstitutional or at least the mandate unconstitutional, they seemed to have been counting the chickens before the eggs were hatched, they are also already celebrating the presidential victory in november.I guess some people never learn.

I think Roberts pulled a last minute switch.  I'm undecided as to whether I am happy they let it stand.  I'm far left, but I don't like being pushed into the market of private insurers.

I'm a leftist too but I have learned that  any step in favor of the poor and the working class should be supported and celebrated and be a motivation to move forward, most of the time the best is enemy of the good and this is a center right country for the most part so if we go too far we get nothing.

Why didn't this country just go with universal healthcare? There will still be a need for physicians in the private sector to take care of non-emergancy stuff like correcting that old High school football injury. This would cut down on the waiting lists that we hear about in other countries.  Just a thought. But Obamacare is a start and will be modified as time goes by. Now we get clowns like Romney (yes this same moron  behind Romneycare in which Obamacare was modeled off of) that want to repeal it and don't have a solution to replace it anything. Okay they want to repolace it with nothing so we go back to the same old issues which got Obamacare started in the first place.

because there is no chance anything like that could've been passed.there just aren't enough votes for that.

They said the same thing about something like Obamacare when Clinton was in office.

I'm amazed by so many against healthcare for all. How can any church going Christian be against a law that saves lives? How can any church going Christian put "money ahead of life?" To those against the socalled Obamcare do you not value the life of a child? a brother or sister? a parent? a grand child? a grand parent? If you pick money over those lives, I'll definately pray for your forgiveness, as I honestly believe God will judge you on that decision!

There really is no hope for cooperation or progress from a certain segment of the population, the ones who are CRAZY with fear and anger over the Obama presidency.  The following post is making the rounds among right-wingers on Facebook, who believe the ACA is a socialist program.  The ACA requires people to buy insurance from private sector insurance companies.  It is a boon for the private sector insurance industry!  Yet, somehow, the misinformed call it socialism.  Read this post and weep for the ignorance that is so pervasive among the approximately 30-35% of the US population that cry "tyranny" and "socialism" so often that independents no longer even listen to their lunacy.

"TODAY AMERICA DIED. OUR REPUBLIC IS NO LONGER. TODAY WE HAVE BECOME A SOCIALIST NATION - Our fellow Americans today may be the day our republic has died and the Socialist nation of America was born. The Supreme Court has ruled that the branches of government must work out OBamacare because it is a TAX ON AMERICANS and Congress has the right to tax. SO OBAMACARE STANDS! So get ready folks because Obama and liberals are going to come after everything you have. EVERYTHING. If you ever wanted to fight for your country now is the time because if they win in November it's all over. America will cease to exist. This may be the saddest day in American history.

Click like if you think TODAY COULD BE THE DAY AMERICA DIED NOW THAT OBAMACARE STANDS AS A TAX AND OBAMA AND LIBERALS ARE COMING AFTER EVERYTHING YOU HAVE. Welcome to the Socialist States of America."

Wow - talk about overreacting! I've always had mixed feelings on Obamacare. I'm not crazy about the individual mandate, but there's lots of good stuff in the law, too.

BTW, I just read that Romney raked in $4.6 mil in just a few hours after the SCOTUS decision.

This mandate thing(I’m not wild about it either but it can evolve) is the only thing we ever hear about Obamacare. Of course there's a lot of positive stuff in the law. Healthcare should be a citizen's right in this country along with education. Along with police & fire protection, public libraries, subsidized postal service, Medicare (which pays for about 75% of hospital bills), social security , etc....... I guess the US has been a socialist country for the past 230+ years.

Just goes to show you they already wish they had a different Republican candidate running instead of what they got, Romney!

According to Mitt Romney himself, back in 09, the individual mandate was absolutely necessary for his healthcare program in Mass to work. TO ensure every one paid their share.

Do you watch The Daily Show?  They have a recurring segment where Mitt Romney debates himself.  For every position he takes, they show a videotape of him stating the opposite.  Too funny!

I think if enough people watch it ,the daily show and the colbert report can single-handedly destroy the romney candidacy .

Just one more nail in the coffin of independence of a self governing people ,  the growth of government , the increase of taxes , the over control of legislation ?  Mark my words , this is another win for corporate America ! Will costs go down ,? Will coverage go up ?, Will we all have better health care ? There has to be  a reason Canadians cross the border for Timely  health care,.....Look at the entitlement expectations that have increased ten fold in America in just thirty years ! When you or I HAVE to have insurance with an increased cost  it only helps to enhance the already Too expensive industry of healthcare. Insurance companies , hospital owners , medical equipment companies , watch them grow now . While your costs ,taxes , and health coverage suffers! Another gift of the Massachusets government was NO-fault and mandatory auto insurance about thirty  years ago! Does this sound familiar?

Much like their must be a reason seniors in droves cross the border to buy their medications in Canada. There are not that many Canadians who cross the border for treatment; and when they do it's for elective surgeries that they don't want to wait for and since they have the money to pay for it they go to the US.
