Many boxing aficionados, sports writer and boxing promoters including Pacquiao's legion of fans are in disbelief after Bradley won their boxing match last Saturday (June 9, 2012). He won it by split decision. How could Pacquiao lost when according to CompuBox statistics he outlanded Bradley in 10 of the 12 rounds!!
Several months ago, Bradley was seen promoting a poster with their rematch this coming winter already. Many think that the game was deplorable and it smells of corruption and incompetency according to sports writers and boxing fans.
What do you think?
Corruption, likely. I read about all this recently. The odds of Bradley winning were 5 to 1. Someone could have made a bit of money. It wouldn't be the first time.
It's darn obvious. The fight was already decided even before it commenced. It seems the Filipino boxer is also involved in this filthy deal, although I am a Filipino myself.
It also happened in the Khan v Peterson fight with discrepancies on the cards and Khan deducted two points by the ref. Khan has been linked with fights against both Bradley and Pacquiao and has made a request to Bradley for a title fight after the rematch against Peterson was cancelled due to drug problems for Peterson!
What is happening to the boxing world? I am a fan of any sports but sometimes, I am taken aback by this foolishness and lack of respect to people who watch games!
It smells corruption, even in sports but like Anti Valanetine said, this is not new! WHEW!!
Pacquiao has been on top for years, and even though lots love him, they want to shake things up a bit. Look at years ago when Michael Schumacher was winning all the time - my dad, for one, hated it, and almost stopped watching altogether. Nowadays you have different people finishing first in practically every race, even the guys you barely hear of.
It is like politics then. I just want to wait for Floyd and Pacquiao game then. I don't think they will fix that, too many egos for that game!
Marvin Hagler vs Sugar Ray Leonard, this has been going on for a long time.
Don't forget Ali (might have been Cassius Clay) v Henry Cooper - Cooper rocked Ali - Ali's glove was mysteriously damaged and he had extra time to recover as they 'fixed' his glove.
Ali (Clay) vs Liston and the mystery punch.

They didn't fix or replace Ali's glove at all, the referee said to fight on with it (despite the the damage). In total Ali got around 6 seconds extra recovery time not the minutes/hours that Henry would later tell everyone. The real conspiracy is "what did Dundee put near Ali's face?" some claim it was smelling salts.
Of course there are doubters who say that the tape was edited so that it looked like there was only a six second delay. I agree that the smelling salts would have been more of a conspiracy though...
I guess we'll never really know the truth though - Cooper claimed a 3 to 5 minute delay - not sure why he would have claimed that if there was only a six second delay....
Clay was also led to his corner, which was another violation too!
The tape was a live broadcast was it not? Shown live on terrestrial TV in Britain.
Cooper wouldn't have said 6 seconds, he'd have made it as much time as was possible. Got to remember that it wasn't until after that fight that extra gloves were even taken to an arena in case of damages.
Though yeah there was a number of violations by Dundee, but as with all violations you do what you can to get your guy the advantage and you expect the referee to enforce the rules.
I watched Pacquiao since his early days. I knew he was winning but when he started relaxing in the latter round, I thought he was in trouble and was giving Bradley a chance.
I was right but not happy with it.

The fight is said to be coming in March 2010, I am wondering what people think about it? I think Floyd wins Via a 12 round unanimous decision.

My friends are watching boxing right now and I can't understand how they enjoy watching 2 men hit each other? And boxers, why would you willingly hurt yourself?
