I'm not biased to any particular genre.

I'll start with one of my favorites: Pearl Jam's Ten.

I second that vote for Live Throwing Copper, listening to it now.  Also Achtung Baby.

The Miseducation of Lauryn Hill truly deserves a spot in this list.

100% agree - although never was a radiohead fan - still massively influential

I still listen to that Lauryn Hill album pretty regularly..

          Would add:

          Ill Communications
Nirvana Unplugged (if I had to pick a N album, that would win)
          Doggystyle
          weezer - weezer (blue album)
          midnight marauders
          TEn - Pearl Jam

more personally - ANY Sublime album
Rage Against The Machine | RATM
          Green DAy - Dookie

You took Dookie right from me.  First time I heard these guys they reminded me of The Police.  Dookie was a very monumental record.  Man, so was that Doggystyle.

I have to admit, though, that while A Tribe Called Quest's, Midnight Marauders , didn't sell nearly as much as Doggystyle I liked it way better.

I'll try to chime in with a few albums...NOT being biased to any particular genre.

    What about...

Yourself or Someone Like You (1996) - Matchbox 20
II (1994) - Boyz II Men
Core (1992) - Stone Temple Pilots
Stakes is High (1996) - De La Soul
Crazy, Sexy, Cool (1994) - TLC
Under the Table Dreaming (1994) - Dave Matthews Band

I wanted to throw Nevermind and Ten in there but "Mighty Mom" and "rebekahELLE" beat me to it.

    Metallica - the 'Black' album

    I'm going to throw in

Oasis' What's the Story Morning Glory.
The Cranberries Everybody Else Is Doing It, So Why Can't We?
    Duran Duran's The Wedding Album
    Erykah Badu's Live
    Madonna's Ray of Light

All of these are still on my heavy rotation.  Although STP, TLC, Nirvana, DMB, and Pearl Jam are up there too.

Good choice in Ray of Light

Duran Duran still had good stuff in the '90s? Wow.

Indeed, let me turn you on to Duran Duran's Wedding Album which features Come Undone, Ordinary World, Breath After Breath and Too Much Information.

And if you haven't heard of Red Carpet Massacre it has a slew of great songs including the title track,  Box Full of Honey, Tempted, Nite Runner and Falling Down feat. Justin Timberlake as well as Skin Divers featuring  Timbaland are all badass tracks.  That CD came out a few years back, though, so not quite in this era...but thought I'd let you know. big_smile

I'm gonna hunt that album down. I grew up hearing Duran Duran and liked their style a lot.  The 90's rolled around and I guess I was kinda taken by Grunge.

I would like to add "Mule Variations"(1999) by Tom Waits
and "Unplugged"(1996) by Alice in Chains

Mellon Collie and the Infinite Sadness (1995) - The Smashing Pumpkins

You think this double disc qualifies?

    What about...

The Bodyguard (1992) soundtrack - Various artists
    Q's Jook Joint (1995) - Quincy Jones
Mission to Please (1996) - The Isley Brothers

The Soft Bulletin - The Flaming Lips
