Where Wizzley beats Hubpages Every Time

   I hate to say it but I have real misgivings about publishing Amazon orientated pages on Hubpages these days.
   
   Why? Because there is no way to edit Amazon ads.
   
   The idiots who compose the ads for Amazon don't understand that huge chunks of text are a liability.
   
   This is the text of one ad:
   
   rooCASE Super Bubble Neoprene Sleeve Case Cover for Amazon Kindle Fire 7-Inch Tablet / Amazon Kindle Touch 3G / Amazon Kindle 3 / Samsung GALAXY Tab 2 7.0 / Google Nexus Asus Memo 370T / Lenovo Ideapad A1 / Acer Iconia TAB A100 A110 / Coby Kyros 7-Inch / Toshiba Thrive 7-Inch (Black / Dark Blue)
   
   That is something like 50 words. Search for these words in Google and you will find 230 pages have the exact same words. This kind of copied content is death to a page and possibly to an account if there was enough of it.
   
   So when I notice that level of junk in the ads, I will be heading over to Wizzley where I can edit it anyway I like.
   
   It would be nice if we could do the same here.
   
   Edit: so, I am transferring a page begun here to Wizzley and I discover that Wizzley seem to be blocking long descriptions automatically now. They just allow the title. Wonderful!

      Will, in this example, the product title is the problem. rooCASE (amongst other sellers) is keyword stuffing product names, probably to get more visibility in Amazon.
      
      What HubPages pulls from Amazon product pages is this: Title, Lowest New Price, List Price, Small Image, and the product ID. For ASIN specified capsules, you can enter a custom description.
      
      I did put forth your suggestion to override/customize Amazon product titles to our product team. Good idea!

         Many thanks. I put a few hours work into the page concerned. Then as soon I loaded the Amazon ads I realized I didn't want that stuff in my account. Hence, the last desperate resort of Wizzley where it will probably languish in obscurity for ever.
         
         I would much rather publish here.

   I agree! I manually select products and I have to avoid some because holy cannoli, the titles are crazy long! I would love to have more customization in both amazon and ebay capsules... and since I hand pick all my products, I'd like to be notified somehow if an amazon product is out of stock so I can replace it with something else.

      Even if the duplicate content was not an issue (but how can it not be?) there is the aesthetic impact. These huge chunks of text make pages very hard to balance.
      
      Incidentally, you can use this search for Amazon ads that disappear: site:melbel.hubpages.com "no amazon products found". It would be better to have it automated, though.

         That's a great thought - the search string.  Doesn't seem to always work right, though - it found one on one of my hubs, but when I visited the hub there was nothing wrong with the products. 
         
         Oh well, still useful, just not perfect.  Better than manually checking each product on each hub!

   I can't say that I am impressed.

   Hmm, So you created this thread on HubPages, about Wizzley being better, for this, than HubPages, in the hopes of accomplishing a sit-up-and-notice by TeamHub to implement this, yet are moving said article(s) to Wizzley?
   Interesting.
   
   Good thing HP is my owned by myself, and other developers I work with because if members threatened to take their toys and leave unless ---, we would more than likely pack their toys for them and say, "Servus". With a smile, of course. Always remember to smile.

   It is worth listening to Ryank, formally a prolific and very successful hubber known here as RyanK*** (I think it is his real name, so asterisked)
   
   He has 179 Wizzs (yes, that is what they are called) but sounds rather mournful in the forums.
   
   "I'm getting little bites on Amazon, had a spell of 7 sales in 3 days, then nothing for a week etc..... "
   
   I don't think his experience is unique.
   
   But, who knows, a little critical mass...
