Does anyone have any suggestions on what to listen to while working out? Or maybe music you have used while working out. I run a little too, so if there are songs you know are good for running let me know. I like almost every major genre of music and open to anything.

Any music will work that you love.  Since you love most music...just keep changing it to keep it interesting.

When I go running, I always listen to pop or rap-- songs with really fast beats or beats that match my pace.

If I'm running through the mountains, I listen to really epic songs, like "300 violin orchestra" and if I'm just running on a track or around town, I'm probably listening to songs that are on Itunes top 100 list.

Right now I've just been listening to a lot of rap for some reason. It seems a little cliched, but to quote one of the rappers, "it's chill stuff". Puts me in long-distance running mode.

That makes a lot of sense. I find music with strong bass make it easier to run longer distances and it keeps your pace uniform because you run at the pace of the bass line. Thanks for your suggestion smile.

Breaking Benjamin is always good, nearly all their songs get me pumped. 30 Seconds to Mars works just as well, but they really aren't for everybody. I'd still look them up on youtube and listen to their top ones. Maybe "Closer to The Edge," or "The Kill."

If I am going to do excercise on my bike I'll put on some techno. If I'm doing aerobics I'll put on some Missy Elliot. If it's dance excercise I'll put Spanish music like Reggaeton, Merengue or Salsa.

I go by science, not taste, and Mozart has shown to increase energy, workout times, etc. Violin music provides regeneration to cells. And if you haven't checked out Masaru Emoto's work on water (after all we are mostly water), that might be a good place to start if you're interested in the science.

But if following your musical taste is more important to you than your health, that's okay, too.

How about Fame: I wanna live forever? It used to help me with step aerobic sessions.

Kenny Rogers is the best. Played it in our gym and I got a complain. LOL

I agree with a lot of the suggestions smile something upbeat. I would also recommend making a 'mixed' playlist. I usually listen to mix of blues, country, opera, pop and metal when writing (hiking or boating), and pop, techno, dance, reggae, type of tunes while dancercising big_smile I love 30 seconds to Mars, good band, btw, lol

    Firstly....... Tell the Truth!!

Do you REALLY want to Work Out or are you just pretending coz you were hoping to Make Out with a nice bod??? yikes  smile  big_smile

    Consider this then....

    If you've got Skinny Legs

    - then the Bird Dance will def attract any old ducks and maybe a passing hawk! smile

If you've got a Big Butt

    - Then Queen's Fat Bottomed Girls will work on any body up to 500ibs! smile

Good Luck mate! Glad I could help! big_smile

What are you talking about? I'm probably going to add fat bottom girls to my playlist because they do make the rocking world go round. I don't know if the chicken dance would be that good though lol. And if you must know, I actually do work out.

I agree with all of these choices so far. It's not like anyone can be wrong. I've never listen to violins while working out, but I have worked out to cellos and it went pretty well.
