I can only surmise he's setting us up for a super duper vetting job by the Romney campaign on whoever they're going to announce as his VEEP.
But seriously.
Why is Dick Cheney getting airtime in 2012 talking about the mistake John McCain made in 2008 choosing Sarah Palin? That she wasn't ready.
Tell us something we don't know, Dick.
This is news because....?
Could it possibly, possibly be.... he's saying she's ready now?
OMG Can you even imagine a Romney/Palin ticket?
If I were Romney, and in the position he's in, I'd go for broke and choose a very conservative running mate who's been dedicated to conservatism over a long period of time. As I've mentioned to others here, I have a hard time seeing any ticket with Romney's name on it unseat President Obama. However, Palin has shown only casual devotion to the Republican Party in recent years. I'd be surprised if she'd even allow her name to be placed on a ballot in 2012. I think many forget she's only 48 years old with whatever future she wants to make in front of her. The party and Palin would both be better off in 2012 if she stayed aloof.
I would extend that timeframe to the year 2062. Palin will never be presidential material.
Though Palin is not active in the regular stream of Reublican national politics she is still involved and from all appearances, still energizing to conservative voters.
http://www.washingtonpost.com/blogs/she … _blog.html
Why Cheney is talking about her? Because the GOP V-P pick has yet to be announced and the news media are chomping at the bit. Who do they get to destroy next? Whose home town gets flooded with reporters and researchers there to dig up trash to throw?
Time is money, the sooner Romney announces his pick the sooner the news media can paint that person as a hate filled, wild eyed, doofus/evil genius/demon so Obama and his bundlers can scare the money out of rich Democrat donors who are currently sitting on their PayPal accounts.
It is awesome to see how she makes liberals crazy.
So why is Cheney talking about Palin? Because someone asked him to talk about what a flop she was since he was the last elected GOP-VP. Sometimes the answer is simple. Occum's Razor.
"Though Palin is not active in the regular stream of Reublican national politics she is still involved and from all appearances, still energizing to conservative voters. "
So is Michelle Bachmann.
"It is awesome to see how she makes liberals crazy."
And many Republicans as well.
Would be a good fit if not for the public's tendency not to take her seriously. I think Mitt Romney is being taken seriously, finally, and adding someone controversial to his ticket would be a step backward (at a time too near the Presidential Election).
She'd be an interesting pick for VP, albeit a risky one.
It's just a misdirection ploy. You can rest assured Sarah will not be on the ticket. She couldn't afford the cut in pay.
Palin has to be the only person in recent history to have a following and popular for being a total loser! Maybe it's because some guys out there are still waiting for some scandals, like nude photos or sex videos of her to show up on the internet.
Not me, I would hate for Todd Palin to be angry with me. She is popular because she agrees with the ideas many people already have about America. No less puzzling than the following Al Gore has - except she is hotter. And he would be the biggest loser - in girth and in actual score.
She was the VP nominee for a grumpy, old, wimpy troll. He was the actual VP to an administration that was more or less a success - it was his to lose and he did. He couldn't even carry Daddy's home state. What Presidential candidate doesn't carry his (or his father's) home state?
Because Mr. Cheney is searching for a way to be considered what he's not - relevant.
ABC News interviewed him - sounds like ABC News thinks he is relevant other wise why bother. Dick Cheney was VP for 8 years, the most recent who is not serving, the most recent Republican VP and the interview was about Romney's potential VP. Sounds like a sound reason to interview him. Unless everything is tainted by emotion and hate.
He's saying crap like this for air time. Because honestly, why would anyone give the crazy coot time on air?
Sarah Palin? She walked away from being governor of Alaska. I don't respect nobody who don't finish the job. Get er' done!
Have you bothered learnign the circumstances of her exit? She was hounded from office. Liberal media loved treating her children like punching bags.
Another conservative who couldn't handle the heat?
Yes, she was hounded by the media, but certainly no more than other popular politicians. It was her choice to tough it out or not. She chose not, obviously. That does not make her a victim; that makes her a quitter.
You may have a point - Scott Walker has been treated in the most hateful ways imaginable. To the point of death threats, pointless lawsuits, occupying and defiling the Wisconsin statehouse. Palin's family was threatened, she was also hounded by pointless lawsuits that lead to nothing and, as a mother, why would anyone blame her for seeking a better way to insulate and protect her family from liberal stalkers. Remember the "journalist" creep that moved into her neighborhood to stalk her and her family.

The visceral hatred of Palin colors everything liberals will ever think about the woman. Someday, some hater may slash her throat and liberals will say, "she was an idiot, serves her right." I have never seen so much hatred for someone who liberals constantly say has done so little.
Again, you confuse disdain and ridicule for hatred.
You want to hear the sad thing? I was at work with three of my liberal, female coworkers when we learned that Sarah Palin had been selected by McCain as his running mate. We were intrigued and even a little excited, although we knew nothing about Palin at the time. Our excitement turned to dismay once we saw and heard from Palin herself. It became painfully obvious that the McCain camp thought they could pick a woman, any woman, and woo Hillary voters. Instead of choosing a woman with the temperament and maturity to possibly become president someday, he chose a woefully unprepared Palin. It was insulting, and very disappointing.
Don't forget how "abused" she was by a 5'-4" tall woman in her 50's named Katie Couric during an interview.
Katie "I killed CBS News" Couric - where is she now? I wonder how she is relevant?
So by that logic, Brian Williams, the NBC reporter who candidly asked Mitt Romney about the London Olympics, should be watching his back now?
Given the declining interest in NBC news, perhaps.
The relevancy comes into play when you are upset by the way a TV reporter like Couric treats you. The world is a bad place with plenty of bad people, if you can't handle Couric you might be in the wrong profession.
Never said anything about Couric - she is completely and totally irrelevant.
Call Couric irrelevant if you want to, the point is Palin had difficulty with her questions. My point is if you can't handle questions from a TV reporter then maybe you aren't qualified to be there.
Just calling her irrelevant is a distraction from the point.
My point is/was that a VP candidate should have thick enough skin to not be hurt by a reporters questions. Her skin obviously wasn't thick enough.
Hope that was clear enough.
I wonder how thin you think Obama's skin is? POTUS should be like a rhinoceros - he isn't - he is as tender as the new skin under a ripped off scab.
I am no Obama fan but that just does not seem at all true, he has put up with every ridiculous conservative conspiracy theory without seeming to be bothered, from he is as Muslim to he is a Kenyan to he is a socialist to he is a fascist and all the other nonsense I have never seen him whine about it like Palin did. Maybe I just missed it.
His proof will probably be a recording of Rush Limbaugh saying so.
I am not saying that this is real - since you can put anything on YouTube but - wow- what if it is?
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=q3SFXQfE … ure=fvwrel
Not real but it did make me laugh
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=S0Tfu27Bz2w
He also swatted a fly once during an interview.
His Secretary of State also had shoes thrown at her in Egypt - there is a universe of hidden things out there
so no proof at all... You said he had thin skin, you should back the statement.
No proof. Just attacks.
Actually, I took it as a thinly veiled birther comment.
You know, Obama being born in Kenya and all, probably out there in the savannah with the other elephants. But he didn't stay out there with them long enough for his hide to toughen up (although he does have some elephantine ears, don't he?)
Just a funny post - google Obama and petulant - sometimes it is better when we find things for our selves
I googled it for the heck of it and found a bunch of references to conservative politicians and pundits calling him petulant. Big deal. Certainly no more meaningful than googling "Santorum" and definitely not evidence that Obama is thin-skinned or whiny.
Would you consider liberal criticisms of Santorum's temperament convincing - honest question for an honest answer.
I'm not sure what you mean by "Santorum's temperament." Please clarify and I will answer honestly.
Petulance is an aspect of temperament. Santorum was often criticized for his temperament. A contest between Santorum and Obama would have been like watching children blame each other. Temperament obtuse is not about temperament.
Well, honestly, I don't remember criticism of Santorum's temperament from liberals, so I cannot answer whether I found it convincing. What I do remember is criticism, and ridicule, of his backward and sexist beliefs, which I believe is different from temperament.
Google Petulant Obama - many many things to peruse.
Wasn't this post about Palin and McCain?
I don't recall seeing Obama complain the way Palin did. I know you will just think I missed it too but I didn't. Palin was always complaining about the gotcha media or whining about whatever she didn't agree with at the time.
Palin has a longstanding habit of quitting before finishing various things, schools, political offices and others.
. . . especially finishing a thought!
Indeed. They say the best defense is a good offense.
That must be it.
Hence putting herself and her children front and media center on Sarah Palin's Alaska. And how about Bristol Palin on Dancing with the Stars (and some show she tried to do recently about being a single parent). And let's not forget dragging her kids along on her bus tour where she rewrote American history.
All except her precious special needs baby, Trig was it? Little Trig apparently outlived his political usefulness to Sarah after covering big sister's baby bump onstage in 2008.
Mighty Mom, you rock!
Cheney is a sociopath who cannot take responsibility for his failures, crimes and despicable conduct. He is comfortable with pretending that he has no dirt on himself, but we will see him as a political version of "Pigpen" for the rest of his life.
Hey! Maybe he's hoping to get back in the Game!
Romney/Cheney 2012?
she rewrote American history.
Beating that dead and wrong horse still - a lie told often enough becomes the truth?
or maybe it means he's positioning his daughter to be the vp choice.
He's just an old media whore with someone else's dead heart and lookin' to feel young again.

I blame Hilary Clinton for this. Hilary created the benchmark for political female "hotness" or "not-so-hotness". And when Palin crashed the scene, everyone suddenly thought she was a supermodel. Thanks Hilary. I have a sneaking suspicion that under Palin's pants...
