Do all Amazon links have to be shown in the Amazon capsule or is there a way to get the correct link through HubPages--so that HubPages gets credit for any sales made-- to place within the text of of hub, instead?

The affiliate share only works in capsules.
If you link to Amazon outside the capsules, the link limits will come into effect on those links.

That's what I thought. Capsules it is!

There is a way to do it, I'm just not sure if it's allowed.

I went through the FAQ, but didn't see anything either way.

Does anyone know if Amazon links can ONLY be done in a module?

If you link to Amazon outside the capsules, the link limits will come into effect on those links.  More than two per Hub or using them singularly across lots of Hubs will have the same negative effects as do overly-promotional links to any other domains.

    So Sinea,

If you want I can show you how to setup an amazon link with your aff ID embedded, it's up to you if you want to use your link limit for Amazon products when there's a module without limits available.

    Let me know...

This simply duplicates what is possible using the capsule.

I agree, but pure text links have a higher CTR than links with pictures, so it might result in more sales.

I would expect you are the expert in this area. I certainly am not. I just suggest what has ACTUALLY worked for me, lol. As a seller as well as an "affiliate" I find the capsules work the best for me.

I actually agree with you 100%, the module is better for multiple products.  I can see the usefulness of a text link if you're promoting one single product, where a module would seem silly.  Me, personally I use modules since I write about categories of products.  If I was reviewing a book for example, I think the text link would be better.  I'm not sure why the OP wants to place a text link, but I assume there's a reason she thinks it might be more useful than a module.

I have done reviews for a variety of items... I do not promote a specific item. So, simply said, under those circumstances the capsules have worked the best.  Test linking is fine as far as I can figure, no problems, however, don't limit yourself.
