Charlie Crist Former Republican Governor Of Florida Endorses President Obama
    August 25, 2012
    By Middle Aged Woman Talking
In a special editorial to the Sunday, 8/26/12, Tampa Bay Times, Charlie Crist, former Republican Governor of Florida, spells out why he is backing Barack Obama for President.
    I like this particular point
"But an element of their party has pitched so far to the extreme right on issues important to women, immigrants, seniors and students that they've proven incapable of governing for the people. Look no further than the inclusion of the Akin amendment in the Republican Party platform, which bans abortion, even for rape victims. The truth is that the party has failed to demonstrate the kind of leadership or seriousness voters deserve."

I think at this point in time Florida is not only in play I think Obama has the advantage and is more likely to win Florida than Romney and this endorsement only confirms  that trend.

Wow this is interesting. It's about time Republicans started stepping up and defending their more moderate practitioners.

Crist switched to a no party affiliation, Independent, in 2010 while running for Senate.  He lost to Rubio. He was a moderate Republican.  He is also well-liked in Florida, so I'm sure his endorsement will sway some voters.

Like any politician, he is an opportunist, so it's more than an endorsement.  His timing is perfect.

How refreshing to see a Republican, now Independent, think of the people first. Though this is my belief, I do feel we need to build a strong middle class to bring this country back from it's knees.

    Lotta retirees in Florida.
Who do they believe is gonna mess with their Medicare (and SS)?
Romney-Ryan telling them that Obama is raiding "their" Medicare NOW to fund Obamacare.
    They won't like that.
Get your hands off MY Medicare!
Whether they believe RR is going to "destroy Medicare" the vague idea of switching to a voucher system 10 years from now under Ryan-Romney doesn't touch these seniors TODAY.
