God vs "God"

   I have been going through these forums about religion and I have come to a conclusion. We all have different beliefs (obviously) but yet some of them are one in the same. I'm not a radical, or fundamentalist, Christian. In fact, I don't particularly like being considered Christian because of all the terrible things the label is associated with, but I digress. What I'm trying to get at here is that I think regardless of what our "label" is, many of us actually believe the same thing. I feel like if we took God out and put "God" in- those of us who like to discuss and learn would get a lot farther in our conversations. You could call God "flubber" if you wanted to, we'd still all be talking about this mysterious creator/designer/being.

      Sorry, but many don't believe in a "mysterious creator/designer/being" at all and in fact considering such beliefs quite childish and irrational.

      It may be helpful to think outside the box or boxes of the  -ists and -isms and take a genuine interest in what others are saying, looking beyond thier labels also. And there is nothing like the mysterious to inspire the imagination. What I find "bouncing" around inside my head right now is the idea that God may like when the discussions have an up-beat tone to them, a little cheerfulness. Surely even the most serious conversations would not be harmed by this. Peace is the goal. Have a nice day.

   Flubber wouldn't be my first choice; but I get what you are saying. And agree. The conversations do get discombobulated. You are coming from one angle, get broadsided by someone who has a grudge against how another group defines the entity. It isn't discussed as a mystery. It's more of a line of soap boxes set up to proclaim possession of mystical knowledge that everyone is expected to accept as truth.
   
   I'm not sure how we would implement your suggestion. Most people don't appear to be willing to explore other people's thoughts and ideas. They believe they know what they know.

   I think I know exactly what you are saying (from my prospective).
   If a computer program could be designed to defrag what the atheist and theists are saying and focus on the commonalities (and there are many) then formulate a logical conclusion, and there are but a few; I think we would find that we are all about 50% right and 50% wrong, which in fact makes us ALL  WRONG.
   
     Nothing is as it apears to be.  Our reality is what we have created for ourselves. We are prisoners of our own mind.
   Kinda like; we are, each of us a universe in and of ourselves bumping into other universes.
   Sometimes these universes bump and merge, and sometimes it is a wreck.
   The truth is ...  there isn't  ONE,   ...   but many

   It is no doubt that this world is not created by itself nor it is now driving by itself. It is the power of God that he organized the whole world in a proper method. All the religions teach the moral values by their self so we must obey the moral values that are taught to us not bother on the fundamentalism.

      Yet, science and reality show something completely different than those mythical superstitions hold.
      
      If you follow religious values, then you are in favor of slavery, misogyny and a host of other atrocities contained within those religions.
