I'm amazed that this is the first forum post about Bulgaria. So please tell me what you know about the country and if you would ever consider visiting?

Hey, really like your hubs. You see, we live in a world which is poisoned by media and regimes. Bulgaria is a fine place, so are all other places. We live in planet Earth.

Hey, a few serious questions for you. First, what is the average price for a house in rural Bulgaria. Secondly, did you take Bulgarian citizenship? What was the procedure?

Average price for a run down, needing repair/renovation house where I live is around 10,000 Euros or less. All depends on the amount of work needed etc.

No, I'm a UK passport holder and haven't taken citizenship as I don't need to. Have the right to reside within the EU

I see! That's affordable. Anyway, thanks for the information. The world is a small place indeed.

Read a book about travels and what he says of the woman behind the hotel check in desk was something like, burly, brusque and smoking a cigarette.

Here a Bulgarian Muslim bride with special make-up -

I met some amicable Bulgarian folks a few years ago in Vegas. They were nice people, proud of their country, just nice people overall.

I know someone who went from the UK to Bulgaria and lived there for a number of years, somewhere in the middle of nowhere. He found the bureaucracy frustrating and now lives in Rome (personally I don't believe Italian bureaucracy is much better!).

I don't have a closed mind to living elsewhere. Indeed, I lived in ex-Yugoslavia for five years. However, despite the rain and the economic problems of the region where I now live, I have fallen in love with Wales and now would not wish to live anywhere else.

As to visiting Bulgaria. I might well do so one day. I used to travel abroad a lot. Now, I'm put off by the cattle-truck mentality of airline travel. Also, I now prefer short holidays of 3-4 days, where I learn and do things rather than going away for 2 weeks to tick items off a sightseeing list and/or fry myself on a beach. I find plenty of such activities relatively near to home. And I still need to work through my book of 100 places to see in Wales, which means mastering more Welsh since I have the Welsh edition, and then plan day trips and longer trips in order to visit them all smile
