It won't matter because Osama Bin Laden (aka Barack Obama) is going to win, regardless. Most of the votes will come from the North East because that's easier to fix.

    Soooo. This is awkward.
    They called Ohio for Obama.
But looks like Ohio is still in play (?) and Romney waiting for finals.
If it flips to Romney, Obama's back to 254 EC.
If Obama gets Colorado and Nevada and Oregon he still gets to 270.
    RIght?
How does Romney get to 270 even with VIrgina, Ohio and Florida?
    He can't???

    1. profile image0
Sooner28posted 11 years agoin reply to this

Romney can't get Colorado or Nevada.  Even if he wins Ohio, I'm not sure what he would accomplish.

    2. Josak profile image60
Josakposted 11 years agoin reply to this

yeah the Ohio prediction is based on the fact that the votes left to count are all from blue areas. Even Glenn beck is conceding defeat tongue

I agree it looks so close -- and even looks like Romney's a few votes ahead -- in Ohio.
Not sure why they called it so quickly.
Chuck Todd of NBC seems to know all the numerical predictions and why they gave it to Obama.

Oh well. It's now 284. Obama took Colorado.
    So without Ohio (20) he's got 264.

    1. Josak profile image60
Josakposted 11 years agoin reply to this

      Ohio is 18 not 20.

Obama is now leading there by 0.5%

CNN said even he they give him Ohio, Florida, and Va, he still doesn't win...he will concede soo I think, I hope, I'm sleepy...

  6. profile image0
    Sooner28posted 11 years ago

Obama has 290.  Give Romney Ohio, and take the 18 away from Obama.  Give Romney Florida (29) and Virginia (13) also.

This leaves Obama with 272 and Romney with 264.

    1. Josak profile image60
Josakposted 11 years agoin reply to this

From my largely uninformed view Ohio looks too tight to call while Florida looks safer for Obama.

I think the votes out in Ohio are mostly from Dem areas.

Romney said he didn't prepare a concession speech because he was confident he would win.

Maybe he wasn't lying, and they are scrambling to put something together.

I think the vote across the USA is clearly split, with the Repubs winning the popular, and that is no surprise that the archaic electoral is superseding.

          1. habee profile image92
habeeposted 11 years agoin reply to this

Yes, last I saw, Romney was winning the popular vote. I don't know which states haven't been counted yet. This country is sooooo divided.

            1. Josak profile image60
Josakposted 11 years agoin reply to this

The last states to close are California, Washington, Hawaii, Idaho and Oregon those have the lowest electoral counts yet and it's pretty clear which party their populations favor overall so logically the popular vote should change towards Obama from soon.

For example California has only 17% counted.

Popular is a dead heat right now. A) the electoral college is a conservative state's rights policy B) Remember 2000?

KFlippinposted 11 years agoin reply to this

And your point is what exactly?  It darn sure is not that Dems have a mandate for stupid policies that will ruin this country, or lead to dead Ambassadors when they don't choose to protect them when it is politically expedient.......... much less worry about regular middle class Americans who pay the bills of this nation and send their sons to war.....

The Electoral College works, no reason to throw it out. And unlike the democrats if Obama loses the popular vote I will not call him an illegitimate President! This is how we elect our Presidents!

I was surprised.  I expected Romney to win by a narrow margin.

I figured he would get Michigan, Wisconsin, Ohio, Virginia, and Obama would win Florida.

It was just what I was expecting from certain demographics on the D side.
