Here we take guesses and shoot off early information on the elections, current exit polls has Obama up 7% in Ohio with voting closed. If accurate it's probably all over Romney winning without Ohio is tough but it seems pretty hard to believe.
The latest I saw Obama is leading in Florida... with only 33% of the vote in.
And they are predicting he will win Ohio based on early results... but it's still early so I'm not taking anything at face value.
Susan, Florida's number are changing so fast it's making my head spin. Literally, Obama will be ahead at one point, and two minutes later, Romney's in the lead. It's crazy.
First swing (ish) state gone Obama wins Michigan.
Romney ahead by 636 votes if Florida...nail biter
Obama takes Pennsylvania second swingish state gone, Romney landslide now impossible.
Is anyone else just happy that Wolf Blitzer is so happy about the race in Florida. He looks like a kid on Christmas talking about Florida haha.
I hope Blizter encounters a winter storm blitz that makes him wish for a Republican to come to his rescue.........the silence in the mainstream media from the east coast will end shortly......and that silence is worthy of indicting someone......speaking from experience... they all should have had MRE's and ICE within the week, your media is ignoring their distress and our government's inadequacies.
Romney hasn't even lost yet and the sore losers have already arrived "it's a media conspiracy" is a pretty lame one on the list.
I noticed that, should I post that crying picture again?
Surprisingly tight in Wisconsin, Romney with small lead but traditionally democrat areas yet to be polled.
FOX has already called WI for Obama. I'm channel surfing between FOX, Cnn, and MSNBC. And looking at a Christmas toy book. And working on a hub. And playing with the dogs. I'm a multi-tasker!
I'm going to NBC, CBS, CBC, CTV, BBC, PBS and back again. I'm going to watch the Daily Show in 3 minutes.
Projecting Obama in California, 55 electoral votes, CNN
Well, I am just so proud for you........... and hope a Union is building those Chistmas toys so you are sure to get them, or even that they will be called Christams toys in a few years hence..........
Obama wins Ohio, election effectively over, looking like a very good electoral college result for Obama at this (still early) stage.
Thank God it's over. I hope Obama ends up with the popular vote, too. Maybe we can begin the healing now.
I sincerely hope so, I also hope Obama is polite and respectful to Romney as of now, this election has been way too... horrible.
Well, that was a nasty comment. I voted for Romney, but the country has spoken.
Looks like Dems are keeping the Senate
Dems have won all the tight Senate races, looking good to extend hold on Senate.
Biggest news of the night thus far Obama takes New Hampshire, if he wins Ohio and Wisconsin then the best possible result for Romney is a draw, first true battleground state down.
I think he gonna take Florida as well..
Most offensive to me..........none of this is for fun...this is our lives.....our future, our country, at least for those of us not already getting that montly check they want so they can sit on their fat ass for the next several decades.....and watch their children grow up with zero to no effort or example on their part about initiative and hard work about how to survive without the guvment.
Uhuh statistically mainly Romney voters on welfare.
The takeaway though is it's almost certainly over which means it's time to work to actually fix things, this hatred and division is way more harmful than most economic policies could hope to be.
So what about all those states where the economy is improving thanks to actions taken by Obama?
What States would that be?? Not to mention, it is clearly not the m ajority of the States. As is usual, it is the heavily populated coastal cities voting Dem - and I have to think, just what choice do they have? Their lives depend on government assistance. Just look at the hurricane -- nobody gave a damn about being out of power for 3 weeks for the rural folks in TX and LA -- but Christie is weeping over it -- what weak kneed losers you are all.......
Secession of Middle America that acually cooks dinner, knows how to cook collard greens and pork roast, knows how to make a pot of beans to feed their family for a week, really appeals to me tonight.............. not the folks who think they are owed food stamps to eat high on the hog, or on the oysters, or the shrimp, or whatever they want from a big Walmart -- not those who think they should get some cash in their hand so they can eat at McDonald's regularly -- that is what is wrong with America - those who think they should have it without working for it -- may you fit in all your blue jeans over the next decade.............
Night, Night....................
Ohio, Iowa, Michigan, Wisconsin spring right to mind.
Gee, you found 4 out of how many in the great USA that just sprang to mind? LOL Can you best Obama in counting just how many States are in the USA? Geez, sorry to hear Wisconsing is lost..
From an economic perspective almost all the states are better off, there a re a few deep red states that have stayed about the same but generally all over things are better than unemployment rising by 1% monthly and Massive negative GDP growth that existed when Obama took power.
Your grouping together all those on "handouts" are those out of your area? Get real! If you believe that, I have some ocean front property for sale in Kansas cheap! Intereste?
I'm a democrat in New York...
And I can cook dinner
*That's my new campaign slogan!
Clearly, you must not be in the part of New York that had lights out, and if you were in Texas, any part of the great state of Texas, you would be cooking dinner for your fellow New Yorkers without power and food and warmth, as well as those neighbors in New Jersey who have no heat, no power, and no food, you really ought to think about that..........
Yup Upstate New York....
And my hometown was once hit by a straightline wind storm. Power was out for days, trees literally toppled through roofs and roads were not passable.
I know what its like to help your neighbors clear trees, bring them food because everything in their fridge was spoiled etc. etc.
BTW
Upstate NY might as well not exist to most politicians in this state. NYC gets so much money and land rights in the upstate that its not even funny.
BTW2
Upstate NY is highly Republican!
Stop generalizing
Sorry, over the past few years, hubpages has degenerated into dems talking to dems as more and more conservatives daring to speak have left after libs have had them thrown out of the forums here . . .
Its not that....
Its more about conservatives trying to label the president as a socialist who was born in Kenya.
Its about conservatives apparently having no problem with leaders saying that the definition of rape is up to interpretation and that pregnancy from rape should be carried to term.
I know you have your views, and that is fine. However, I would submit that reasonable people are more than welcome to speak their mind regardless of their political leanings.
I think we have a new Challenge however my lefty friends, it would be a big boon for a sensible Republican party in future if Obama gets 300 which looks entirely possible even likely, so I for one am sticking around to see the results
Honestly, that would be OK with me. There is nothing wrong with an opposition party as long as they are reasonable and present ideas in a mature and rational way. Compromise is not a dirty word.
Romney lost MI, PA, and WI. Ohio is his only hope. It looks like he might not even take FL and NC. I think it's going to be a fairly early night.
Still close Habee, FL way close....I think R will get NC
CNN is projecting an Obama win in PA. That's 20 electoral votes right there.
Looking good for POTUS in Florida and Ohio
88% of the Florida vote counted, Obama up by 8,000 votes. Real close. 64% Ohio counted Obama up by 90,000 He who wins Florida and Ohio wins it all.
I think the FL counties that haven't been counted are Obama counties. Have the absentee and military votes been counted? I've heard a couple of news anchors mention the dreaded R-word. Ugh. I don't wanna go through that again.
I think your right AV nail biter on these two...
I told you guys Kleenex sales would soar. I tried to warn my conservative pals...
Thank goodness all the crazy conspiracy theories were not believed by sane voters.
Projecting WIN!!! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=04854XqcfCY
CNN called a victory for Obama at 11:18Pm. HOORAY! Earlier, they called wins for a bunch iof Dem senators including Elizabeth Warren in Massachusetts. But the GOP will retain control of the House.
Finally over! The POTUS has been reelected! Proves money can't buy an election! A win for the people!
It's the 99% WE DID IT!!!!!! Money can't buy us
Money did buy this election, money that influenced the media to completely igonore every sickening and negative thing about it! How stupid can the electorate be!! Clearly, completely stupid!!
When was the last time you heard about rich Dems with known socialist and Dem connections influencing, paying, contributing to the 4 out of 1 mainstream news media resources!!! Not..................
It's over. The sitting president has the needed 270 electoral votes. Whew!
Maybe Congress will start working with him... they will be thinking of how they will look in 2016.
lol Or perhaps maybe he'll start working with Congress because he wants his legacy to be one of success? Name one thing he's offered to the GOP that even smelled of compromise.
The man won the popular vote by 1/10th of a percent. Hardly a vote of confidence of the American people, nor a mandate. Congressional make-up remained the same with the GOP actually holding a larger majority in the House. Again, hardly yells confidence or mandate.
General vote is swinging further blue by the minute as California, Hawaii and Washington are counted, it's expected to end up as high as 3-4%
Democrats gained more Senate seats and a Massive electoral college lead by more than a third more votes (and the electoral college is what decides elections) it's a strong win, much stronger than both of Bush's for example.
Given that the GOP had everything going for them and still manged to lose hard it's pretty obvious who needs to adapt.
Hi Josak,
Don't get me wrong, I wasn't implying the election wasn't a fair one at all. The Electoral College is what determines the President, and it is what it is. Even at 4%, (going the high end) that is hardly a mandate. If you recall, no one, well, okay I wasn't here at Hub Pages then, but no one I talked to believed George Bush had received any type of mandate with his re-election.
What concerns me is the automatic cuts and tax hikes looming around the bend. They need to be dealt with, and quickly, for the good of all Americans. Will the President actually reach out as he promised? Or will it just be more of the same old, "you have to do everything my way". To which the GOP will not buckle, (at least, I hope they don't because not all of the President's ideas are good ones) and then what?
LOL....its the PRESIDENT who hasn't compromised enough?
Sorry, its just not the reality....
And conservatives wonder why they aren't taken seriously....
Brian Williams is interviewing Mike Murphy, a Time Magazine columnist.
"We have a Latino problem and it just cost us the election."
I understand what he means, but honestly. It's language like that that's the problem.
No one likes to be looked at as a "problem."
MM, I do think they are realizing they have a "tea party problem" that will help them the most, I think...Left a link above from youtube, especially for you
The problem isn't a latino problem! It's a problem of Americans, whether they agree or disagree with their President, putting aside those differences and working for the better of All Americans!

NJ Governor Chris Christie, who as recently as a week ago was a harsh critic of Obama's leadership has a new BFF: Barack Obama. He's been effusive (some believe TOO effusive) in his praise for the POTUS and his handling of Sandy, going on numerous news shows. So what do you think his motives are?...

Will the rumors that Mitt Romney's son owns voting machines influence the election results in Ohio? There has been controversy over the presidential election results in key swing states in recent years (Florida in 2000 and Ohio in 2004). This year, rumors are already spreading in the state of Ohio...

In the first debate Governor Mitt Romney was relaxed and confident and in command; Obama was practically absent. Tonight, Obama was on...
