Here I am!  So....it's rainy and chilly here.  I've been to a two hour education session for my husband's surgery - to the pharmacy - back to his regular doc for an injection - tried a nap, but the puppy and the kids didn't allow for that to last long.

So...it's rainy, chilly, and I'm dead on my feet.

But it's sure nice to see you!

    Hi,

I'm here too!  I've spent the day tidying up a party site from the weekend.  Lifting trestle tables and stacking benches for hours in the drizzle.  Still, would have had to pay a fortune for a work out like that.  Now just the house to scrub and the dogs to bath.  It's just one excitement after the other:))

I'm in a strange mood today....

Guns N' Roses - Cats In The Cradle & A/The Silver Spoon ~ Little boy blue and the man in the moon

My child arrived just the other day.
Came to the world in the usual way.
    But there were planes to catch and bills to pay;
He learned to walk while I was away.
He was talkin' 'fore I knew it,
And as he grew he said,
"I'm gonna be like you, Dad,
You know I'm gonna be like you."

And the cat's in the cradle and the silver spoon,
Little boy blue and the man in the moon.
    "When you comin' home?"
"Son, I don't know when. We'll get together then.
You know we'll have a good time then."

    Well, my son turned ten just the other day;
He said, "Thanks for the ball, Dad. Come on, let's play.
Could you teach me to throw?"
I said, "Not today. I got a lot to do."
He said, "That's okay." And he walked away,
and he smiled and he said,
"You know, I'm gonna be like him, yeah.
You know I'm gonna be like him."

And the cat's in the cradle and the silver spoon,
Little boy blue and the man in the moon.
    "When you comin' home?"
"Son, I don't know when. We'll get together then.
You know we'll have a good time then."

Well, he came from college just the other day,
So much like a man I just had to say,
"I'm proud of you. Could you sit for a while?"
He shook his head and he said with a smile,
"What I'd really like, Dad, is to borrow the car keys.
See you later. Can I have them please..."

And the cat's in the cradle and the silver spoon,
Little boy blue and the man in the moon.
    "When you comin' home?"
"Son, I don't know when. We'll get together then.
You know we'll have a good time then."

I've long since retired, my son's moved away.
I called him up just the other day.
"I'd like to see you, if you don't mind."
He said, "I'd love to, Dad, if I could find the time.
You see my new job's a hassle and the kids have the flu,
But it's sure nice talkin' to you, Dad.
It's been sure nice talkin' to you."
And as I hung up the phone it occurred to me,
He'd grown up just like me.
My boy was just like me.

And the cat's in the cradle and the silver spoon,
Little boy blue and the man in the moon.
    "When you comin' home?"
"Son, I don't know when. We'll get together then.
You know we'll have a good time then."

    To fade.

Weird.  We were watching football yesterday, and one of the Chicago Bears was talking about his wife, who's expecting.  He sounded really apathetic about whether or not he was present for the birth.  He seemed more concerned about being there for the games.  The commentary staff sort of took him to task over it.  I thought it was interesting.  Unless my husband was deployed or killed on the way to the hospital, I don't know that I'd EVER be okay with him not being present for the birth of our child.

There sure were a lot of unhappy campers around here today. Plus, I'm having my own problems trying to get 2 hubs published. They are part of a set of 4. It's beginning to look like I'm going to have to move all 4 articles somewhere else.
