who is the greatest team ever in each sport?

   i want peoples opinions on this for further writing material. im gonna get a rough estimate as to who gets how many votes. i want you guys to list each team that you think is the best in there corresponding sport. and if you want to throw in some extra, give me your opinion on the greatest team of all time. this may include the olympics, those dudes work hard too.

   If we're talking about the best teams right now in 2012, these are it.
   
   NFL = San Francisco 49ers
   NBA = Miami Heat
   MLB = I know that the GIants just won the World Series but I got to go with the Washington Nationals for next season
   
   To get this discussion going, I'll stick with the current best teams of the big three sports for now.... ok, I'll toss in one more.
   
   PBA = Parker Bohn III... there I said it.
   
   Let the debates begin.

   Those are all some great picks if we talk about this year, minus MLB. I do like the nationals but I am a Yankees fan so i gotta stick with them. But on the NL side i would go with the Nationals or maybe even the Reds. And I am also a Lakers fan so my toss up there is the Heat and Lakers. Not dogging on your picks or anything.
   
   But i wanna know what people think of all time. This is a research thing I'm doing.

   Alright... the greatest teams of all-time...
   
   NFL = 1962 Green Bay Packers
   
   The 1962 Packers compiled an impressive 13-1 record (the only loss coming to Detroit on Thanksgiving Day). The tough and well-coached Packers won the title by beating the Giants 16-7. During the regular season, they racked up a +267 point differential, the best of any NFL team in the 1960s. Yielding only about 10.5 points a game, their defense had that killer instinct that simply could shut opponents down. Led by Hall of Famers Willie Wood, Herb Adderley, Ray Nitschke, Henry Jordan, & Willie Davis, this group should receive more recognition today considering their numbers are so strong. For example, even the great 1985 Chicago Bears defense gave up more points per game on average (a little more than 12 a game). Toss in their well-executed offense (that featured Bart Starr, Jim Taylor, Paul Hornung, and an excellent offensive line) that averaged better than 32 points a game and you have the best team in history.
   
   
   MLB = 1927 New York Yankees
   
   How can you argue against this Yankees team that went 110-44?  The two biggest stars, Babe Ruth and Lou Gehrig, nailed a combined 107 home runs. Besides Ruth and Gehrig, they had three other hitters who batted over .300 (Earle Combs = .356, Bob Meusel = .337, Tony Lazzeri = .309). Plus, their pitching was incredible. Of the 6 pitchers that logged over 150 innings, only one had a higher ERA than 3.50.

   The All Time Greatest - The New York Knicks 1972–73
   
   The Knicks, who won their first league title ever by defeating the Lakers in seven games in 1970, lost the opening game in this 1973 series and then swept the next four, repeating the pattern Los Angeles had used to beat them in the final series the previous year.
   
   To this day I can still regurgitate the roster by heart.
   Head coach Red Holzman led Willis Reed, Dave Debusschere, Dollar Bill Bradley, Walt "Clyde" Frazier and Earl the Pearl Monroe. The bench warmers Jerry Lucas, Phil Jackson, Dick Barnett and Dean Meminger. Add a little Hawthorne Wingo and Henry Bibby and you have one hell of a championship team.
   
   Unfortunately the Knicks would not make it back to the NBA Finals until 1994 when Pat Riley was in town.

   NFL - The Pittsburgh Steelers with Bradshaw, Blier, Franco Harris and the steel curtain.
   NBA - The Bulls from the years 91 - 98  - Jordan, Pippen, Grant, Rodman, Steve Kerr, Paxson
   MLB - The Yankees from the late 70s/early 80s
   Boxing - Ali and Leonard - they changed the sport and were great champions
   Football Int'l - I liked Romario from Brazil
   
   I don't watch Hockey or Olympics too much so no greatest there I can select.
