Let It Go- I Really Abhor People Who Keep Rehashing Past Mistakes

   All of us take detours in our lives.   Some we learn and some we choose to forget.    Life is about experimentation and risks.  We profit and we lose.   However, there are SOME people who believe that we should be perfect and follow the straight path.   God forbid if we err, we are LOSERS, FAILURES, and FALLEN.     Even if we grew and moved on, in their eyes, we are LESSER folk.    And THEY will NEVER LET US FORGET about the mistake or error.   What do YOU think about such people?

      There will always be negative, critical, rude people amongst us, no matter what the time or circumstance.  The solution to dealing with these characters, is in our reaction to their obvious unsavory attitude.
      It's advisable to remain calm and pleasant, almost as if you pity these pessimistic, closed-minded individuals.  Don't give them any amount of time and attention, but do rise above their biting comments.  It's as if these people would like to anger you, to prove their point, that YOU have issues.
      As for "what I think of people like this?"   I don't "think,"  I know.  They are the few and far between, pathetic losers in this world, whose small minds will remain stagnant and ultimately bring them down to the level they attempt to bring others.  Don't let them do it!!

         Not only strangers but there are family members, particularly perfectionistic, judgmental, and critical parents, who believe that their children should be perfect and win at all costs.   If the children "fall short", they are not forgiven but are viewed to be blemishes in the eyes of their parents.   
         
         Children brought up in such environments because risk aversive and fearful, believing that they have to be always on guard lest they be criticize if they happen to fall below par.     These parents are of the school that anyting doing is DOING WELL or NOT AT ALL.  These are the parents who contend that mistakes are analogous to deadly sins which should be avoided.    This is quite a delusionally sick way in which to raise children.

      Here's a modified post I made awhile back regarding a similar issue...
      
      When dealing with adults:
      
      First time: Tell them this is hurtful and to please stop.
      
      Second time: Flat out say, "Shut Up!"
      
      Third time: Say, "What the F--k is wrong with you? Shut up!"
      
      These are just examples. The idea is to let it be known that you will not tolerate it. And each time there is an incident, escalate your response.
      
      As to kids:
      
      First time: Tell them this is hurtful and to please stop.
      
      Second time and beyond: Send them to their room, take away privileges, etc.

   sounds like an ex-spouse - If, a family member I will not let it continue even if it was a parent.
   the parents, well, let's see when you incorporate hard requirements to excel in class usually it works to favorably.
   I am no expert nor do I have the data but Indians and Asian have strict requirements for their kids to bring home As. Has it worked? I am not sure but when you pick up a phone book and I don't have those relics, I am talking about online directories.
   What is common with most doctors names you see there? They are Indian and Asian names, the highest paid professions on average. Software developers are next and guess what?
   Sure there are so-called success in other professions but the aforementioned are highly respected.

   If the mistake was, for example, rape or murder, I sure as hell will keep judging a person for that.

   I highly recommend give them no thought and focus on those that make you smile it's better for your health and well being   you know that saying, 'opinions are like a .... oles, everybody has one' , not our fault they live up to it
