Facebook is currently down for some people, that might be the reason.

Are you still having issue related to Facebook?

Nope, all is well. The FB button is back. The current consensus is that this is/was an FB glitch, not an HP glitch.

    Thanks, guys.

Well, good news in that it's not HP.

Bad news in that I kind of needed those characters today for one of my adventures. Figures. Oh, well...

Went on to one of your Hubs, paradigm. It's there for me smile Hopefully just a local, technical fault that will be resolved shortly... smile

      Amended to say, "Firefox..."

You need to do a google search for "mywebsearch" immediately!

edit: and if you are unable to do so, let me know.

Search brings back what i imagine are typical google search results for that term.
You thinking some kind or malware or something?

Sorry all if i caused any inadvertent threat to anyone by posting that but seemed like too big a coincidence to the thread re FB and i've never had this happen on hubpages before.

Edit: From 2008 to now the thing seems to have become much more benign. So there is a good chance you are not in too deep of doodoo. smile

I'm still looking around for more info and will get back to you.

Yes i could initially access this link. The only thing i found was a My Web Search (Smiley Central) which i've uninstalled.I've also rebooted and deleted FunWebProducts and MyWebSearch folders from my program files as suggested.

I don't recall using Web Search Smiley Central but i did have My Web Search as a homepage although i never even use it.I think it gets offered as a homepage when updating firefox which i must have unwittingly or absent mindedly accepted with a recent firefox update and it's powered by google so i'd of thought it to be ok.Just never changed it.I usually just launch my browser and go str8 to google from my drop down menu.

        OK, but still read http://www.techrepublic.com/blog/securi … lware/5312

edit: and I humbly agree with the article that MalwareBytes (and their file assassin) is the best.

It says like on mine, but the emblem has not worked for a while. I thought they might not like our links. Do you put some of your own hubs on your page? Maybe that is a problem.

Thanks for all your support and help Paradigm.I've tried going to hubs from my hubpages email notifications (where i first noticed the divert issue) and i'm no longer being diverted so hopefully all is ok.
I've also run a QuickClean with my Antivirus Software.

Again thanks for your guidance and efforts tonight PS.

I've got to log off now but i'll check these things out more thoroughly tommorrow.

    Much Appreciated,

    Rob.
