Why has my hub not been approved?

I had my hub removed and I understand why. The reasons stated are:
    too promotional
    deceptive tags, title or category

I updated the hub significantly. I tweaked the tags, changed the summary around, updated content and deleted several outgoing links. It now only has 2 outgoing links to different, credible sources.

Here's a link to the hub:
    http://bartender-james.hubpages.com/hub … PS-Trainer

Can anyone help me understand why it hasn't been approved in over two weeks?

Yes, that's the hub except it doesn't include my numerous tweaks. Only one outgoing link to that site, and other educational outgoing links added elsewhere (without being spammy).

I wish an administrator would see the hub and at least help me understand why it hasn't been approved yet!

Well, I'm not seeing anything wrong with the hub even as it was then.

It has the allowed two outgoing links to the same domain and is over 600 words which is a nice length.

I have no idea what TIPS stands for, but then again people searching for it would know, so that shouldn't matter.

        From what I can see it's a nice-looking, well-written article.

Maybe it's a mistake? Did you check your tags? Obviously we can't see them to see if you put unrelated ones in.

How long have you waited for a staff member to come back to you?

As had already been stated, HP staff don't usually do this sort of thing over the weekend, so it'll have to wait until next week.

        Hope you get it sorted.

haha oops. I forgot that since it's not published it can't be viewed. I guess then the question should be addressed to a moderator or administrator.

    Thanks for trying cfin!

Is it definitively resubmitted (not accidentally 'saved' without republishing?
If so is the rejection reason now the same as before or different?

Good thought. Yup, I clicked on "resubmit for publication" and got this message:

This Hub has been submitted for publication, and will be published once it has been reviewed by the administrator.

Just to be safe, I did it again. We'll see of hubpages admins respond. If not, I have no problem moving my stuff to squidoo where they'll be happy to show my non-spammy content. I made the minor tweaks suggested by hubpages so the ball is in their court now.

      Wish me luck!

    Patience, grasshopper... patience. smile

HP don' work weekends (AFAIK) so some of this stuff may have to wait till Monday.

Weekends? I've been waiting for nearly 2 months now. Are we sure they work weekdays at this point? haha

If it is still unpublished now, it is unpublished on purpose.  What is the reason given?

  6. Bartender-James profile image41
    Bartender-Jamesposted 11 years ago

    Same reasons as before:

    too promotional
    deceptive tags, title or category

I've addressed ALL of those issues; I even stripped all outgoing links. I've still heard nothing.

email the team directly for clarification  team@hubpages.com (ask them for examples of exactly what is wrong now you have made changes).

I know may be you have already had a look at learning centre for this type of violation but if not so, have a look. I would suggest you remove all outgoing links and all ebay and Amazon capsules if you have them. If you have RSS feed or if you have links poiting to other hubbers hubs, check to see the feeds or the suggested hubs are related to your hub. You might have already done this but try to change the hub title. Re-submit for publishing and let us hope this time it will get HP approval. Contact HP team and let them know what you have done, ask the to point specific areas in your hub that are causing violation if there is violation still. I once did this and the team was quick on response. Good luck.

For the first time EVER I have also had a hub unpublished with the same notification.  It scores an 88 and has had numerous comments in little time.  The view duration is long and it has a $$$ rating as far as potential money.  It only has 2 Amazon capsules and they are definitely related.  I added History to the title since I did have quite a bit about the history of the State in addition to the many attractions.  I stripped out most of the internal text links except to the main ones which led to other hubs written about the sites in that state.  My mistake was in not noticing the resubmit for publishing button which I just found and pushed.  So now it is in that green pending state.

I have a question.  Say for example I have written hubs about other gardens, botanical gardens, etc. and I am writing another hub about a specific garden.  In the text, I have highlighted words like garden, plants or botanical garden and have them internally linked to other hubs already written by me or other hubbers.  Is this not encouraged rather than leaving links at the end of a hub?  I have written many hubs about things related to my mother.  If I highlight the words "my mother" and have them tied to other hubs regarding her...cats rescued by her, a recipe by her, a hub about her growing up...is this not allowed?  Just to be sure I stripped most all of them out.

Is there a limit on the number of outgoing links?  I need to know this before I change anymore external links to the internal text links.  Thanks for any advice.

You can have as many links as you like providing no more than two go to the same external domain. Internally links going to other hubs can be either in text links or at the end of the hub or wherever, it is up to you, but if you use an RSS feed it must only link to 'related' hubs of yours, not just any old hub  e.g. a hub on gardening should only link to other hubs on gardening, not to recipes for instance. I don't believe there would be a problem with the 'my mother' example you used, but it is worth mentioning that with all due respect, few people are likely to click on links in the anchor text 'my mother' because she is your mother, not theirs, and therefore they are unlikely to have much interest in reading more about her. You would be better off using the anchor text 'cats rescued', 'fruit cake recipe' or whatever (basically something that tells the person they are going to read something they are interested in).

Be careful too about writing hubs on subjects like your Mother's life growing up, as it may get unpublished for being strictly personal because it is on a subject unlikely to be of interest to other people.

        Thanks mistyhorizon2003,

By external domain do you mean links to Wikipedia as an example?  As to the internal links it is good to know that there is no limit as to hubs linking to other hubs.  Thanks for the advice as to the "my mother" example.  Will keep that in mind.

Wiki and similar sites you can link to as much as you like, but you might notice problems on 'commercial' sites as these are profit based, therefore HP will query you linking more than twice to them.

I think you should follow rules and guidelines well before writing a hub. Its mandatory that it must not promotional and should be unique with high quality English.
