    I'll go first.

    Relaxing.

    Creative.

More fun than fighting over politics with my friends on Facebook.

Maybe one day I'll make dime off of it!

I like to write to inform, for therapy, to make a nickel or two and just because I like to!

Writing is one of those things where you can express yourself without being judged. It's like a conversation. You do the thinking, the pen does the talking and the paper does the listening.
I'm the type who sits in my room and just writes all day. It's a sense of relief. i write down my story ideas, imagining them as movies and even figuring out which actors to play them. I pretend I am the characters.

I write because I wouldn't be me if I didn't. It is something that drives me, and living drives me to write. I can't not do it.

Sounds similar.  I wish I had the discipline to write a longer work, a novel, but it's the third act that always gets me in an outline.  That and even finishing the first one.  One day.

No one in my immediate family or circle of friends shares my geeky passions (hard rock/heavy metal music and B-Movies) so I had to find an outlet for my thoughts/impressions on these subjects somewhere!!

Because if I didn't I would end up going crazy. Writing is therapy for me.

When I am writing, I am in my own world, separate from all else. A world where all is fun; all is can be; all is real; all is as it should be. A world where one can make things right; a world where one can do good; a world where there is joy; a world where one contributes to society; a world where all things are possible.

Writing is very therapeutic for me, too. I used to read to cope with problems as I grew up, and I guess part of why I write now is to try helping other people in similar ways.

Anyway, it's just fun, and a good way to connect with like minded people.

Writing gives me a chance to express exactly what I want to say; I don't always do it as well verbally. I like the process of forming my thoughts, arranging them, rearranging them, using different words, and creating a piece. It's actually fun. It's like a puzzle I'm putting together where the pieces change but still fit together. With poetry, I like expressing what I think others are thinking and feeling. A lot of my poems were inspired by what clients expressed during a counseling session.

I like to write to express myself, and because I have something to say.

I'm Hubbing for my mother, who suffers from a terrible autoimune disease, so that she can be heard across the blogosphere.  The disease may have impaired her voice, and she may not be the best of writers, but with my skills I can  make her plight be known and doll out our personal experiences and advice to others suffering from the same disease!

Also, of course, because I have, like, a million ideas bubbling about in my head and need to get them out some times!

All so interesting - I wondered why others were on hubpages, and writing, and it sounds like we're generally a group of like minded people, at least so far as our reasons for writing, with a few additional twists unique to each writer.  Thanks for sharing!!!

I write because I'm obsessed with it, and I have no choice.
